It sucks you lost your plants. This hobby has its highs and lows. The betta tank is awesome to watch.

Tanks, Merb. I'm hoping the roots are still good on most of them. Time will tell.
@josepolanco1228Ай бұрын
Seachem excel they market it as a liquid carbon, like you said labeling is a problem if they market it as an algecide. Which is more of what it is.

That seems to work great. Sorry about the melt back. I watch someone do similar to jungle val and it melted back on them but left the roots and they came back so maybe the crypts will also. IDK. good luck
@garageaquatics2023Ай бұрын
It did work great. I do have a load more of the Crypts I pulled from two other tanks so that's not too big of a deal. I'll wait a while and if they don't come back, maybe I'll replace the Crypt parva. We'll see.

That's really too bad about all the melting, hopefully some of those can come back from the roots 🤞 Looks like the ultra life worked well! Regarding what it contains, obviously I don't know, but I do think it's interesting that it said you do not need to remove carbon (with chemi clean you do). Unless there's a form of erythromycin that carbon can't neutralize/remove, I would guess because of that there's no erythromycin in ultra life. 🤷♀️ Regardless, glad you had good success with it! 🙂👍
@garageaquatics2023Ай бұрын
That's what the box says, but someone else was commenting they think that there is erythromycin and algicides. The plants are replaceable. I pulled loads of the red Crypts out of two other tanks. It's the little Crypt parva I'm going to replace. There was also a little lily start. I hope that survives. BUt in the grand scheme of things - that stuff worked amazingly on that cyanobacteria. Enjoy the day!

It seemed to work. I can't say Goodeids eat algae but I have about 20 Goodeid tanks and there is no algae 👍👍👍

Yea I had an issue in the past with one of my tanks with that cyanobacteria I treated it with erythromycin and I haven't had any issues since. On another subject get you a Siamese algae eater they will take care on the black bear algae for you.
