I noticed something while reading the English comments written on the Japanese version of the video. The anxiety of "Will it rain?" is a small everyday worry. If we were to eliminate that anxiety by erasing rain from the world, in other words, if the world became a place where it never rained, neither humans nor other living things could survive. In other words, a "paradise where all sorrows have been erased" is a "world where everything has died." In the last scene, it starts to rain, and Shu says, "Even rain can be good sometimes", and Yuma smiles and opens his umbrella, and the umbrella is probably a metaphor for the wisdom and courage to face anxiety.

I still can't believe they made an episode like this in 2024. Nice to see that Ultraman hasn't forgotten the "weird" episodes that make it unique among the big toku franchises You know an episode is great when it kicks off with a reference to "Nightmare of the Fourth Planet". And after so many episodes of bright, dream-like lighting, seeing the Amazons filter is a great contrast that clearly shows something is wrong 14:12 while the explanation afterwards is unsettling and effective, I can't help but feel like it'd be perfect for an "Ultraman Arc Without Context" compilation, with how it looks less like a river and more like another kind of liquid The masked man and his Pillar were great, it's rare we get enemies like this in New Gen, but it's a treat when one does appear. I loved the Rene Magritte references with the man's real "face" and the sky birds as well

I found a play on words in Japanese. In Japanese, rain is pronounced "ame". In Japanese, candy is pronounced "ame". 22:12 "ame (candy)" falls in a world where "ame (rain)" has stopped falling, and in the last scene, "ame (rain)" returns to the world.

@user-gy3kd9oe6q For Taiga i said it's eps 10, that eps tend to have a more somber tone to it about a Nackle Seijin who just want to live his life as a painter until Tregear did something. Decker is eps 20, it was the eps where the defence team vice captain decided to investigated a small city in an island due to a suspected case of a monster attack, which turns out that monster is actually a Ragon who was once worshiped by the citizens of that city while end up sealed away by the townsfolk in the past and the city being at threat of being drown since the huge rock (which was supposed to be a gate that connect that Ragons homeworld being destroyed for project purpose). With Geed, it's eps 20 where it revolve around Riku and his friends try to solve a mystery regarding a Star Bem monster that always attack a city at every 10.00 AM.

So was that person a human or an extraterrestrial who uncovered an artifact that erases suffering? So what this does is it erases people's suffering but also robs the world of color because removing people's suffering is like removing an essential part of people's lives. Either way, that man uses it to erase the world of suffering starting with kaiju and the rain making everyone gradually forget about all of it. He was so close to succeeding until Ishido, Rin, and Yuma caught on. Yuma confronted the strange man who unveils the artifact called the Pillar and takes on Yuma who has managed to hold on via his strong imagination and Arc. He seemingly succeeded but Yuma who seemed down in the altered reality working in Hiroshi's cafe with Rin returns to the vacant lot that held great memories of his childhood. By resonating with the dripping water, he remembers the loss of his parents and the Ultra who saved him that he brought back to life via drawings. This brought color back to him and he brought Arc back to reality allowing him to destroy the Pillar restoring color back into the world alongside kaiju and the rain. The masked man who removed his face has a void in it with a green apple at the end of it. It's a reference to the Son of Man painting. That painting represents all man carry with them the original sin. In other words, everyone carries suffering in their lives, erasing it would make themselves hollow. Actually, that masked man looks a lot like the Son of Man. I guess you can say the apple being the void of where his face is means he is attempting to erase the sins of the world but can never erase that mark off himself.

They really forgot that Gaia is the most budget-consuming Ultra show to date. Lotsof returning casts (some that are non-japanese) pretty diverse miniature set, monsters suit got destroyed almost every episode. Current Tsuburaya, even with help of Bandai money, can't even hit 50 eps. Any attempt to do new gen Gaia will always pale in comparison to the original.

Interestingly, some element from this episode reminds me of another Gaia episode, City of Uqbar. Both are bizzare episodes that involves a man chasing the idea of paradise/utopia involving mysterious floating object, and the fact that the fight is NOT the highlight of the episode (Ruku are unstoppable force yet not here to fight; the pillar destroyed in a single move)

Dude… you’re losing it. I, and I assume others are fine with Ultraman Omega next year. Besides, I don’t think Tsuburaya can DO New Generation Gaia without ruining what made the original good. That’s like giving Ultraman Nexus a remake and removing all the dark and gritty elements that made it unique. There are some things that should get remastered/new generation counterparts/continuations, and there are some that don’t. Gaia is one of those that don’t. There’s a reason it’s held in such high regard in the fanbase, and practically begging for a New Generation Gaia is just- kinda pathetic, to be honest.
