As a kid watching this back in the early 70's it was actually incredibly upsetting to watch Ultraman die. So when he was rescued and we learn Ultraman is part of a bigger family of Galactic heroes it was uplifting. Therefore I've always had a special reverence for Zoffy.

Great video, it's so cool to see someone trying to explain the Ultra universe. It's really darn hard to make people get interested into the series, the majority tend to watch Kamen Rider or Super Sentai instead. My only nitpick: People doesn't use "Ultraman"' to reference him , there is no "Ultraman Zoffy", he is just Zoffy. Like Astra, Yullian or Ultraseven, he's one of the few Ultra Heroes who doesn't carry the "Ultraman" title/name.

Thank you! Yeah, I know. Sometimes here on the channel I sacrifice 100% detail-faithfulness to make it more easily understandable to both ultra-lamens and the Ultra-experienced. That way those who know nothing of the Ultraman and women will know he is still an ultra and not just a similar looking, closely related character.

Hi, a fellow Ultraman Fan here. Although Zoffy is seem in most tv series as either at the sidelines or getting his ass kicked but in reality, Zoffy is one of the most experienced fighters among the original 6 brothers. Reason why he is not strong as it should? If he truly is strong, he will overshadow the other brothers in their own series. There were several manga that show Zoffy as a competant fighter like Ultra Brothers the manga and Ultraman Story Zero. One canon suggest that Zoffy was a war orphan who was raised by an older Ultra fighter who taught him the M87 Beam. Ultraman Story Zero show Zoffy learning M87 Beam after being overpowered by a wild Z-Ton and the natives cheered him in order to regin his strength and learning M87 Beam. The word "M" in M87 beam stand for Miracle as Zoffy describe the natives's cheers as a miracle to regain his strength. Furthermore in the final chapters of Ultraman Story Zero, Zoffy was the last Ultraman standing against the final alien boss (I forgot who it was) and he won and saved everyone. But why he is so weak like during Belial attack on M78? I guess that since Zoffy spend most of his time deploying the Ultra heroes to different parts of the galaxy, he spent less time training. After all, Zoffy is the Deputy Leader of the Space Garrison with Father of Ultra as the Head of Space Garrison. Fun fact: Another canon suggest that Zoffy and Ultraman Ace are adopted by Father of Ultra which probably why Zoffy came to save Ace so many times in his series.

Nah interms of skill Zoffy has it down.....but its always he gets matched up against enemies powerful enough to kill Ultra's that we dont rlly get to see him shine.....like Belial for e.g. he took down the whole Ultra Crusaders singlehandedly as well as his weapon being powerful enough to reflect the combo beam,but Zoffy did well on his own in his 1v1 against Belial it was because of the building that they were fighting on that gave Belial the advantage. The dmg Zoffy took from the fall caused his color timer to actually blink compared to all the other Ultras who faced Belial. Even Original and Seven started to blink after that fall.

He always gets matched up against enemies either more powerful than he is(Tyrant and Belial) or gets used for plot to make monsters look so damn powerful(Birdon) true he is the commander of the Ultra Crusaders and the leader of the Ultra Brothers but there r some Ultras with more potential then him(Seven) but lacks as much experience as he does(which is why he is the commander)

During the first series of Ultraman, they were unsure yet whether all of the Ultras would would carry "Ultraman" as part of their name before their given name. I think Zoffy is an ultra that gets shoved aside the most. He never really lives up to his high-rank as he barely has any unique contributions to battles (except reviving Ultraman) with his only standalone battle being against Birdon, which he got rekt.

Liquid Pestar Zoffy has earned multiple star medals and earning one is not easy. He earned all his medals during the Ultra War for M78 against Belial. He's mainly a side Ultra for backing up other Ultraman as he is the commander of the Ultra Crusaders. He saved Ace from death and used his bracelet to give Ace a temporary energy source to fight with. Sent Taro back to M78 and fought Birdon and had the upper hand during the fight. Appeared multiple times in Taro's series fighting monsters like Grand King,Tyrant and Alien Temperor. Fought Alien Babalou to retrieve the Ultra Key nearly killing Leo in the process. But thats all he's mainly used for.....Originally he was suppose to appear and fight Zetton in the final episode of the Original Ultraman series but was scrapped because they wanted ppl to see that Humans can defend themselves even without Ultraman.

I just used the "Ultraman" bit to help make things be a bit more understandable for the lamen fans as well as experienced fans as there is no logical reason some of the ultraman don't posses the "ultraman" moniker in front of their name other than the fact, it's assumed that you already know he is an ultra, so they use the actual name instead, more personally. And, actually, according to most cannon sources I found it IS "Ultraman Zoffy" but, it's more commonly said as Zoffy, with the "ultraman" being implied. The "Ultraman" bit wasnt said in his firat airing as they were airing him in a show called "Ultraman" and Tsuburaya was unsure whether or not the Ultras from there would just be called by their name or "ultraman - NAME", (WHICH, later became the case) so they just said his name and this stuck. For as long as I can remember, every appearance of Zoffy has been a disappointment. I was hyped when he showed up, since he's a decorated soldier and superior officer and all that, and he never do anything remarkable. Guess I expected too much that the real thing couldn't live up to it.
