Neil, Just wanted to thank you for taking the time to share content on your trip and the Panoramic. Still in the planning stage to select a B class van and this certainly helps. I was the person who missed you by a few minutes in Pacific Grove when you parked on Ocean View in the loaner Panoramic. Fellow retired techie from Silicon Valley from the hardware/VC side of things.

We did quartzsite back in 2015. I was so entertained. We stayed a month. Went to the big tent event and rock events. I've never experienced anything like that before. Enjoy your travels. Great fuel mileage by the way.

Beautiful area. We visited by car and hotel a few years ago and really enjoyed hiking around. May be back one day in a class B. 🙂 Great couples photos at the end, too. 🥰

Beautiful camping areas!!! I am really interested in what you think of your Van going forward. I am thinking of selling my 20' Airstream and going with a Class B or small Class C. Glad to see you back on the road and making videos.

Welcome to AZ! FR525 … ya got to go slow as it’s bumpy and ruts. I can’t remember if the Pano has a full size spare tire. Beautiful isn’t it? How the mountains rocks all of sudden turn red. Waking up to the red rocks as your backyard!! Sorry to hear about the first scratch…ugh! Safe travels home! Do you still have the Westerly?
@Ultramobility2 жыл бұрын
Hey there! I was one of the most beautiful places I have been. Yes, I still have Westerly!

Sorry I missed you..we live in Sedona. Thanks for posting, and the Home Chef stuff looks appealing. Also the 18-19 mpg is great. I get 13 in our ModeLT. 🙁

Thanks for sharing, Neil! I'm pretty familiar with the area as I lived in Phoenix for 16 years. I noticed you mentioned some overnight temps a little below freezing. My understanding is that the fresh tank and plumbing are protected inside the van, but the black and gray tanks and dump lines are not protected or heated. Is there any guidance on how low of overnight temperature is acceptable for the van without worrying about freezing? Now live in CO and can get temperatures in the 20's even in the summer when we camp at 8-10,000'.
@Ultramobility2 жыл бұрын
If the van is being heated then the plumbing lines and fresh water tank are just fine. With sustained overnight camping in below freezing weather the holding tanks will eventually freeze as will the dump station. Dumping some rv anti-freeze into those tanks will help. I’ve used my previous van in sub freezing temperatures for extended periods and by flushing with Anit-freeze avoided any problems with the tanks.

I hope you get the awning working OK. Many people complain about their awnings and some companies now even give you the option to not have an awning.!
@Ultramobility2 жыл бұрын
i can see that. i guess i’d prefer to have the awning for when i need it versus not have one.
@Patrick_Ross Жыл бұрын
@@Ultramobility - my plan is to use a fold up awning with collapsible poles.
@HouseAbout79902 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear about the scratch. A couple of questions about the awning. Was this the first time deploying the awning? Did you test it when you picked up the van? How far can the awning be out before having to use the support pole? I have visions of just putting the awning out a few feet to shade the door and/or so I can have the slider open when it's raining. I have seen only pics of the awning out, never seen a video of it being deployed. It would be beneficial for viewers if you have a video of you putting the awning out.

ugh so true.

Maybe you should ask Panoramic to pay for the cost of repairing the scratches since it was their faulty awning. I was worried that something creepy might come into your van when I saw the door opened and the screen not down. The night sky in the desert must have been amazing!
@Ultramobility2 жыл бұрын
lol well they probably would but honestly i hardly notice it.

Enjoy your travels while you’re young. I’m 71 and just spent 5 months traveling around Europe with my wife. Never again. If I ever see the inside of a hotel room again, I won’t be responsible for my actions. You have the right idea.

Ever have concerns for dangerous animals, reptiles etc. while dry camping in remote areas?
@Ultramobility2 жыл бұрын
Hi, Big G. Not yet. I’m not sure what summer will bring tho. It’s a good question.
@cj96672 жыл бұрын
Here in AZ we have javalina, rattlesnakes, bobcats, yotes, scorpions and poisonous Sonoran toads in our neighborhood. As long as you are aware..you’re good. The concern nowadays would be the human species..very unpredictable! 😳

Those first scratches are always such a bummer. My 2nd trip out in my new 2023 Thor Tellaro, I learned the hard lesson to not let the magnetic pads on the telescopic ladder to touch the ground when putting up on the van. When I went to take the ladder down, tiny rocks scratched the upper side of my van. Not the end of the world. I will touch it up soon.
@Ultramobility2 жыл бұрын
Oh man… that sucks but thank you for sharing that because I have the same ladder and now i won’t make that same mistake.

Fair enough! Yes, I really won’t be doing reviews like that any more. I will occasionally give my opinion about models and compare models but it will be informal and more conversational.

@@Ultramobility You did great reviews of vans but now that I've decided on a Panoramic, I don't need to see reviews of other vans, just this one. 😀
