My ancestors , since the 1100's at least, are from Stirlingshire-the county that contains Denny, Stirling, and it's western border is....Loch Lomond! Flower of Scotland is undoubtedly the de facto Scottish national anthem, although it might not be the de jure national anthem. Ask the Scots what their national anthem is and there's no denying that the majority of us would say Flower of Scotland.

My mate is born and bred in Edinburgh, fully paid up member of the TA. Second generation Pakistani, loves are Scotland football and Pakistan cricket. Watches all Scotland home games and some away games too. To say the TA are racist, yeah whatever !

GSTQ is the anthem for the UK, Land of Hope and Glory is the English National Anthem. Sweet Chariot is not a National Anthem. Irelands call is not a National Anthem. Flower of Scotland is officially recognised as the National Anthem for Scotland and is played at the start of most major evens, however Scotland the Brave is the actual National Anthem of Scotland. Scotland the Brave is played by pipbands all over the world, I guess most don't even know that it's a National Anthem they are playing.

No, I just think that it's perfectly possible that Scotland can now govern itself. I don't want us to estrange ourselves from the Irish (north or ROI), Welsh or English and I personally don't intend on doing so. However, the union is past it now, there's no point anymore. Indeed, I'm a realist too. I'm not going to deny that Scotland has been moving towards independence for the past 30 years. Do you honestly think that if Scottish Labour switched their policy towards pro-independence they would lose their support? You'd better get used to the idea of independence, because with further devolution and constitutional change, most analysts agree that it's not too long until it's a reality.
