Ultrasonic Animal Deterrent System (product review)

Arrived quickly, was well packaged (came in a brown Amazon box rather than its own box) and was exactly as described. It took me a little time to understand how to work this thing. The user's manual is very well written and included a LOT of information about how use the system as well as general information on best practices for successful animal deterring. I wanted to use this to keep a certain cat out of our yard, but after reading through the manual and thinking about it, realized that it would also work to keep our own cats out of the yard - or, at least annoy them! So, instead, we put it in our cabin to keep the squirrels and mice out. And for that, it works really well! There are multiple settings on it, but I opted to use the most sensitive setting of the motion sensor.
Pluses are that it is either battery or AC power supplied, it is relatively easy to set up and use, and it works! I have noticed a significant decrease in the number of rodents etc that are in our cabin for sure!
If you are looking for a reasonably priced animal deterrent system, this one works well and is reasonably priced at just under 50 bucks.

Glad you found the review helpful. It has been a few years now, and we still have this system in our garden in the summer. It seems to really work to keep the ground squirrels from coming in, but I think the deer have gotten used to it now. So we use it in combination with a motion sensing water sprinkler which comes on for about 10 seconds anytime movement is detected. Together, they work really well!

Does it work in the garden???

It works pretty well in the garden, but we found that after a while, some of the critters (mice, ground squirrels et cetera) got used to it and started coming around again. The best device we found to work in the garden so far, is a motion activated water sprinkler. We got one for deer primarily, but it also works for other species as well. We got ours on Amazon, but I'm sure they are sold many places. Good luck!

What would you do for a "real test"? I don't own - nor am I going to buy an oscilloscope for this inexpensive pest deterrent, and the app I used worked quite well, actually. Looking forward to hearing your suggestions for a "real test."
