I am in awe of the scenery. I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and have (beautiful) mountains to run but your trails are gorgeous. Happy New Year to you and the family. I appreciated watching your videos this past year. Your content rates so highly in my view that the 7k seems criminally low. 😁 Have a great year!

Daniels Pass is really cool. Glad they added that segment, really helps deal with the sometimes ridiculous and meandering crowds at the Muscoco trailhead.

New to the channel, love the snow so envious. Here in the south of the UK we get 2 inches of snow for a week then it rains for months as the heat from Africa meets the cold from the North. Still lovely everything is green and wet. But I do love a trail run in the snow. Time to visit our Scottish neighbors again. Keep up the good work

Thank you and welcome! Sounds like back in TN; we would get maybe 2” all year, but the rest of the winter season would be dreary and rainy.

You're slowly turning into Colorado with all those white flecks in your beard to match the white patches of snow among the trees. (And Valan surely thinks you're gorgeous.) Go, Lee, go!

Thoroughly jealous! Thanks for the shoutout brotha, I'll be laying down some fat bike tracks soon enough. If this is the start of your CO running journey I can't wait to see what adventures 2023 holds. Hope your family arrived safely and everyone is getting settled in. Happy New Year Steven!!! Side note, I'm pretty impressed with those new Hokas, looks like they held up great in some tricky situations. Also, kudos to the runner in shorts ;)

Man I am so excited for 2023! Family is settled and school starts Thursday, so that will be good to get them in a routine. The Challenger ATR 7’s have been impressive! Sure I slid a few times, but short of micro spikes, any shoe would in that.

My Kahtoola micro spikes arrived while I was running lol. I used them today.
@rescuedfriendsanimalsanctu84812 жыл бұрын
@@UltraTrailSteven you will eventually want to own both micro and EXO spikes, like we all do lol. Micro for deeper snow days but not deep enough for full on snowshoes, and EXO for hard pack, bullet proof ice, and everything else.
@UltraTrailSteven2 жыл бұрын
@@rescuedfriendsanimalsanctu8481 yep, maybe the Kahtoola K10 or some crampons even.

@@UltraTrailSteven I love my crampons for hiking, but running in them would probably result in my bleeding out on the side of a mountain! 😆 I'm not the most coordinated individual.

What pace do you usually run on mountain trails ? Given the typical mountain terrain?
@UltraTrailSteven Жыл бұрын
Well the slow really slows me down a good bit. Back in TN with similar elevation gain (not taking into account the effects of altitude) I would generally average 11-12 min miles over a 20 mile run with 6k+ elevation.
