This was. On the early shaha tape floating around 1990 , but I’ll be honest , I heard it first at Venus in Notts under Jane and Nick sharps ownership, but up in stoke shellys I always remember picking up ‘ rhythm Foundation let the whole world know ‘ think it was house night Friday and hardcore sat or visa versa up in shellys . One thing I always loved about Venus in Notts was it’s selection on music .

One of my favourite tunes from this era , took me years to find it so thanks for posting👌 There is only one more I need to find now which is doing my head in, it starts with a piano break and has a similar floating away style as Kites but she says something like sweeeet inspiration, lyrics follow , there’s a world outside your window blahedy blah , it makes you feel so real…….Sweeeeeet inspiration. I'll tell u a bit of my BEST time of my life.😀 I was 17.lived 2mins from Shelly's in longton (s-o-t) and 5mins from Entropy. I was in care so I had NO boundaries!! Shelly's on Fri night,used walk straight in (no que for us 3).Doormenan already got the nod. Pop one,wait 10 mins and we were off round Shelly's as if it was ours! Everyone knew us,always come to us and we f*****g loved it. Any outsiders who were spotted "sorting people" would get taken upstairs by the doormen,stripped,taxed and barred and they never came in again. I was a kid looking up to all this thinking "yea,I'm one of the lads". Long bobbed hair. We had every thing even the music, it was fantastic. That went on for 2years until one night,some one who'd been caught distributing came back after been taken upstairs and shot a sawnoff at the doormen taken off one of his kneecaps and that was it.The police ran an operation and got it shut down. Brought a couple of us back down to earth but the police couldn't stop the music and the love. We just went to Entropy instead, carried on doing what we were doing and Raving all night long. Looking back everything was great except the violence. The music will always sound as good as it did " backintheday"!!😀But um now nearly 46 and wouldn't change it for the world. I could go on and on but I want listen to some banging tunes!!!😉. 1989-1992.For me "them WERE the days". Hope your knees recovered Chalky!!! Inxtc. Love it ✌✌✌

I really loved this song, but I have to admit it has aged less well than fondness wants it to. The sweetly naive but sincere lyrics - the heart of the song - still stand up as does the extraordinary vocal performance, and would bear application to another modern work which 'references' or reworks it, as is very much the vogue right now. The simplistic, hard-edged post-acid sounding production, on the other hand, makes it sound almost as old as disco. And maybe less relevant? there isn't much of a return to, or love for, this sort of production style or sound aesthetic in modern dance, despite the massive resurgence in popularity of acid from last decade and, more recently, jungle. - A massive, absolutely massive, big-name DJ remix or total reworking, dropping these vocals right in the centrepiece, would be unbelievable in these hard, cynical times.
