The second build can also be called "mini-Guts". You wield a rail of a sword that is so much bigger than you. Great reach, powerful strike, but slow. Not to say that the Knight already looks a bit like Guts, with his dark cloak and a nail behind his back.

I have a similar story. I was wandering around the Soul Sanctum shortly after getting Grimmchild-I was trying to get the Shade Soul for my second playthrough. I was doing fairly well for someone with my experience-still not great, but barely mediocre-and Grimmchild dealt the last bit of damage needed to kill the Soul Warrior, after missing nearly every other attack they threw at them. I was left simply stunned by the Soul Warrior just exploding into geo for seemingly no reason, then hearing Grimmchild and remembering they were here too. In case you're wondering why I brought Grimmchild, I was looking for a flame in the City of Tears and remembered that I hadn't gotten the Shade Soul yet, so I went to the Soul Sanctum and did that while I was there

We need more lore based builds in my eyes. Maybe a grub focused based build that incoperates both elegy and grubsong.

Here’s a build I like: fury of the fallen, grubsong and thorns of agony. If you want, you can add any of the life blood charms to get more masks for more damage with the thorns. This only works if you know how to do it though as you need to take damage to get the build going. Fury of the fallen, if you somehow didn’t know, boosts your damage if your at one mask, grubsong gives you soul when hit, so you can cast more spells and do even more damage as your not going to use it to heal, thorns of agony allows you to deal damage to the enemy when your getting your health down to kill them even faster and if you use the life blood charm(s) you can do even more damage with the thrones and get more soul to cast spells. No, idk how many notches you get in total, as I have not finished the game, but if you can, you can add shaman stone and/or spell twister. If you want to go more with the nail attacks though, you can put on long nail, nail arts, or/and quick slash :)

It's not great in terms of practicality, but I like using glowing womb, flukenest, grimmchild, weaversong, and defender's crest. It just feels really fun to have a little army of creatures following you around and helping you fight lol.

I have an idea for the Grimm Troupe dancer build, if you didnt banish the Grimm Troupe and use grimmchild, the last two notches could be used on stalwart shell rather than sharp shadow, this could be like getting hit and then dancing around your opponents to dodge all of the attacks after.

No, Elegy projectiles only hit if your nail doesn't. Notice how the projectiles don't pierce, but they ignore enemies hit by your nail.

I give it a nine out of Zote, with Zote being an 11 out of 10 for, “So crazy that I don’t understand how you beat me.” The only thing I do differently is using shaman stone instead of mark of pride.
