Realistically, this game should've had Katy Kat as the main character. A confident, bold MC who the player can have a blast playing as. Somebody who's capable of handling everything thrown at her, no questions asked. But the game didn't take that route. It instead decided to focus on the most unlikely hero-- the shy, often awkward, and not-very-confident Lammy. And it works better for that-- we celebrate all of Lammy's little victories, root for her to win, and want her to overcome her insecurities. Long story short, I love Lammy to pieces.

I remember being so confused when my copy of Um Jammer Lammy had me in the middle of nowhere instead of hell. Which is a weird thing to be confused by for gaming standards.

In the Japanese / Europe version it is the original uncensored / hell version! In my opinion it is way better

Anyone else notice how at 2:27 there were folders for "Stage 8" and "Stage 0" What's up with that? I think so because S7 was selected to locate the Stage 7 cutscene, and while we don't see S6 selected, S6.IKI Is selected to play the Stage 6 cutscene.

S0 Is most likely the opening cutscene and S2 might be Stage 1's second cutscene, they're most likely ordered by scenes, so the S probably stands for, 'SCENE'.

i must ask, what is the menu that we see between cut-scenes? is it like a beta version of the game made just for testing cut-scenes in the ps1 system? to see if they look good?

I think the menu Itself is some sort of filesystem of the game, as you can see .xa files used in the game as well. At the top of the menus you can see "MOVIE BOOT [IKI FILE_] So I think the software itself is designed for viewing the cutscenes.

what’s funny is how surprisingly chill the hell scene is compared to the us version. instead of showing the us kids a mildly dark area and having them hear the word “hell”, we can emotionally scar them 👍 but that’s not a negative comment, it’s impressive how much effort went into reanimating it! especially with all the craziness, lol
