Umar Johnson Knows That His FDMG Academy Is NOT Opening

Umar Abdullah-Johnson first announced plans in 2010 to establish the Frederick Douglass & Marcus Garvey (FDMG) Pan-African School for Black Boys, with a grand opening originally set for September 2013. He promised the school would focus on helping Black boys with learning disabilities and behavioral issues. Despite early efforts to recruit staff and students for an aftercare and summer camp in 2010, these initiatives never materialized, and little groundwork for the school was visible over the following years.
By 2011, Johnson continued to speak publicly about the project, even proposing a nationwide school district in 2012, a grand vision that included a 500-acre campus with multiple facilities-an enormous, billion-dollar concept lacking initial funds. Over the last 14 years, he has repeatedly delayed the grand opening, changing the date at least 25 times, sparking suspicions that his true intent may be to continue collecting donations without ever opening a fully functioning school.
