I have 2 mags that came with my origin, and I bought one extra mag. One mag gave me problems from the start. Then all 3 would not load properly. Then they just jammed, and I couldn't empty the mags fully. Sometimes the mag would not chamber, like there was an obstruction. Today, I sent the 3 mags back to Pyramid Air. They told me to call Umarex. I spoke with Andrew and he said he has been there 3 years and only had 2 calls about issues. I told him about you and he said anything that you do, would void the warranty. I'm sure what you fixed is causing my problems. If I have problems with the 3 new ones, I will do what you taught me and explained so well. Thank you so very much!!!!!
@HajimotoProductions Жыл бұрын
Umarex USA is correct that most if not all modifications to one of their products voids the warranty. But in the end it has to work, right? So if a air gun that you purchased for yourself and is your property needs to function, you have two options, return it/warranty it or fix the problem yourself. I am a fix it myself kind of guy but that doesn't mean you need to be, LOL. Good luck my friend.

I rarely get to shoot my PCP so maybe something quieter and also bigger lol. Slower only like 700fps but a lot more force. If you are interested in one I'll let you know if its worth $300 before you buy one. Gauntlet is dope for sure after I fixed the million factory issues it had😂

@@caleblacy3012 Sorry to hear that oh, you either got very sucky neighbors that don't like you or they have overly sensitive large ears. a break barrel will probably be even louder than the gauntlet. If you have sensitive ear Neighbors you may want to look into getting a suppressor for your gauntlet. May I suggest if you have irritating sensitive Neighbors why don't you do an outdoor project that may require tools like an air nail gun with aloud and obnoxious air compressor? They themselves may suggest you go back to your backyard hoppy if you know what I mean.

Hey Haji, Alan from Lawrence, MA. I had an excess plastic burrs on the leeding edge of the teeth of my UX Synergis magazine carrousels, as well. One tooth was hairy enough to stop the rotation, so that the next pellet was not delivered to be inserted into the breech, causing a few dry firings, until I figured out how to fix that with a filed bevel on the leading edge of all my mags carrousels. While the mags were apart, I took the spring and super glued it's end into the hole as I had also had one mag lose its tension when the spring sprung. So far so good.

I just purchased a 0.177 Gauntlet and I have several magazines. Not knowing how to load the pellets, I may have damaged one of the magazines by turning it too far in the wrong direction. I found another one of the magazines that stopped working. Thank you for showing that the magazine could be opened up, how it works, how it should look when assembled properly and how to re-assemble. The first pellet will feed into the breach and maybe the second but then the carousel stops turning so the pellets do not load. I believe that I have repaired one of the magazines by taking it apart and then putting it back together. Your snap test to get the right screw tension is working on this one. I have tested it and it seems to be OK. The one I believe I damaged that had the spring bent. I tried to bend it back. It worked once in the Gauntlet but when I went to fill it again I heard the spring let go. I wonder if a small spot of hot glue might be enough to keep the spring in place? It looks like I have recovered at least one of the magazines. Thank you.

Interesting, I’m going to give this some thought. Actually much thought I don’t know that I have a problem with call it “mag damage”. I do shoot JSB’s but mostly Crosman so I may just check and see what the softer pellets look like after exiting the mag. Accuracy has not been a problem unless I get undersized Crosman’s. I check for deformities in skirts as I load the mag and before inserting the mag at the breach. I’m glad I don’t have but 4 mags to tweak if needed. Excellent video as usual Haj just keep them coming.

I would check to be sure the leg of the spring is at a 90° bend so it stays put also if your mag version has other tension holes, try using one that reduces the amount of initial preload tension. I hope this helps.

Love your tutorials. Wondering if you would help me with an issue. The bolt handle on my Gauntlet has play in it, and I don't remember it being there before. How do I remove the bolt handle? Don't just wanna go wrenching on it. Thanks for your time.
@HajimotoProductions6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words Chris. First, degas the rifle, second remove the screw that holds the action into the stock, point the safety lever down, so it looks like another trigger ( it can be tricky but you will get it to stay there) once it is pointing down, pull the action from the stock. Be sure to not lose the small black rubber stop which your owners manual describes and shows where it goes. Once the action is out of the stock, be sure the bolt is forward and the hammer is not cocked, you want the rifle uncocked and the bolt forward, loosen the phillips headed rear trigger screw enough so you can remove the upper cap which is hiding the allen screw that tightens the bolt handle to the bolt. Once it is tight, reverse the procedure and re gas the rifle.

Can this be the same problem I'm having with my FX Streamline? 1-2 out of 11 pellets are hard load and damaged heads.
@HajimotoProductions6 жыл бұрын
It could be Jerry. It certainly would not hurt to disassemble the magazine and smooth out the channels and contact areas that may be damaging the pellet. Another common issue is the magazine's alignment through the rotational component, there could be a misalignment in the concentric sections.

Help please? I bought some .22 Marauder mags for an aftermarket breech made by GMAC for my Crosman 2250B. If I have the gun even slightly tilted up at the front when I re-load, gravity often causes the next up pellet to fall into the space created by the thickness of the cover (4mm) and twist as the magazine indexes. This also allows the 2nd up pellet to partially index and then a big jam Why is the slot in the top cover so long leaving a big space for the next up pellet to drop back into? Is this normal and I should just make sure I have the gun tilted downwards when I re-load? I am using RWS Superdome pellets. Should I try a different one? Any advice would be appreciated

Any rotary mag like this benefits from the finishing touches. My Hatsan's are the same style. Any of these mass produced rifles benefit from the extra time finishing the job. They have great designs and engineering but most just don't do the finishing final touches. Screw the warranty do the fine touches and you will have alot less errors and issues once the roughness and sharp burred edges are taken out of the equation.

Dear Hajimoto I have an Air Venturi Avenger that I have had for 3-4 months now and yesterday when I woke up there was zero pressure in my tank. I tried to fill it but it would leak out. I removed the front end of the stock to see WTF was wrong with it but could not see anything that would indicate a leak . I put it back together and filled it up and it held air. Or at least I thought it did because this morning same old shit zero pressure in the tank. I tried to fill it and i could hear it leak out real fast . So I removed the fron part of the stock again filled it and it is holding air at least for now.. Do you have any idea what is my problem and if you do what must I do to fix it? I love your channel & you were the first person I thought of when this issue came to light. It would be a huge help if you could educate me on what went wrong and what I need to do to rectify the dilemma. Thank you Hajimoto

Thanks for the the kind words of support, I appreciate that. I am not sure where or why its leaking but you can find out by making yourself up some soapy water solution by mixing four (4) tablespoon of dish detergent with one (1) quart of water and spray that sucker down looking for bubbles.
@steveinla89636 жыл бұрын
Yes, I like your videos and mods, thank you. However, it is an unrealistic test to leave chambers empty. People usually fully load the magazine. The distance from the first pellet to the second is greater with empty chambers. That allows an unrealistic acceleration of the cylinder thus exerting greater than normal force on the pellet's skirt when it hits the stop. Furthermore, as you correctly state, JSB's are a soft lead. In my tests where I have shot different pellets into water, the soft lead skirt is ironed out into the chamber as it is hit with the high pressure air blast. In other words, dented skirts are made round again by the initial air blast. This may be another reason JSB's shoot so straight. It's up to the individual to determine which technique is best for his/her shooting; magazine, or single shot tray. Thanks again for all the videos and mods! R, Steve

You know what I don't understand is maybe you know if you put the pellet in and it does a little bit of a deformity from the magazine but will you push the pellet into the barrel and it has to be a soft palate I would think the barrel rifling would put its own form under the pellet when it goes into the barrel so whatever the magazine is doing to it I would think it would counter it when you pushed it into the barrel and less the magazine was actually splitting the skirt you wouldn't want that but I would think that when you the probe pushes the pellet end of the barrel that it would form to the barrel and I think that's why a lot of guns are fussy with pellets and you have to try to find the pellet that works the best in your gun in your Barrel what do you think and you would think as the pellet is traveling down the barrel that the rifling would form the pellet the way it wants to as it is leaving the gun
@HajimotoProductions6 жыл бұрын
Hey Don! Well, when a rifle is taken apart the breech of the barrel needs to be inspected to make sure that in the barrel rifling and lathe processes that the breech is not rough or presenting any metal deformity that will shape a lead pellet inconsistent with the bore. When the pellet probe pushes the pellet into the breech the pellet crosses over the transfer port hole, here is another place that can have burrs that can damage a pellet's soft lead skirt. You are right to a degree that once the trigger is pulled a huge pressure differential is formed in the barrel and the skirt is formed to the sides of the barrel taking on the rifling as it goes down the barrel. The Umarex Gauntlet also utilizes a choke at the last portion of the barrel to swage the pellet down a bit. This choke pretty much makes all pellets that exit the muzzle the same size thus increasing the accuracy. The issue is, if there are any nicks, tears or deformation to the skirt, the pellet will not fly straight. Think of a major league pitcher with a nail file, one little scratch changes the flight characteristics enough to cause drag to induce exaggerated flight anomalies. There are some rifles that have a much to aggressive choke and therefore must shoot very specific ammo of a smaller size so the swage effect does not cause damage. When I work on a PCP once of the first things I do is push a pellet down the barrel and inspect the pellet for major issues. A bad breech, transfer port or crown will ruin accuracy so that's where I start. I hope this helps

I just had to bend the top of the spring, so now both ends are bent, to push stronger to keep the spring in place. Then I filed away the part of the clear cover that's pushed over the lug to open the magazine far enough to begin loading. So now the clear cover slides around without wearing on the little lug. Which is maybe why the mfg makes the cover too long there. It's shootin fine too.

Sorry to hear that you magazine quit on ya. Did it lose spring tension or was it a catastrophic material failure?

This is a comment to hajimoto or anyone else out there that watches these videos and owns a gauntlet 2 I am looking for a wooden stock or a tactical stock if anyone and I mean anyone had any leads just reply to this comment I would really appreciate it and I also would like to thank you to personally Hashimoto I've watched so many of your videos I bought some of your products for The Gauntlet to I am looking into buying the extended mags the trigger and the super tune kit but I thought I read somewhere that if I buy the super tune kit and the trigger that I need to use the original spring on the hammer I can't remember but if you can let me know I'd appreciate it

I just watched a video on how and what is needed to fill one of these air guns and they cost more than the guns themselves? It is very misleading when you’re new to this and you have no idea that either form of equipment needed to fill it with their cost more than the gun so even at $300 for the 22 caliber Gauntlet is not such a great deal when it cost you more than that to be able to use it because you will need a way to fill it with air.

Did you find the 3 stage hand pump on eBay? Only $70 and it fills most PCPs.

It's "Chamfered" champ, NOT Camfered! Other than that little nitpick, the video is awesome! Keep up the good work.

Too cumbersome to fill mags. I only use them to hunt or pesting. But for plinking, way too much work. I can get off several shots rather than loading a Mag over and over again..

I hate these Piece of SHIT magazines !!! I got ONE shot off before it malfunctioned. It's all jacked up now and I just bought a replacement. Until then, I'm using the single shot tray.
