Thanks for time to share the vid WombatBull. I just ordered one of these this past Sat night because it made the cover of Guns&Ammo. I collect REAL firearms and have about 18 various pistols, semi-automatics, shotguns, rifles (sniper, assault, target). My son is a senior at Liberty University and is also the captain of the paintball team. I will probably get him one of these for Christmas and for his graduation I will get him a Kimber Pro Carry II 1911 style pistol. I ordered this rifle so that I could have something to use to practice on my aim out in the back of my home and since I live in the city limits I need something quite that won't freak out the neighbors. I have a small steel trap to use with targets so I can recycle the BBs and pellets. Also, mine is shipping with a scope for $82 but I'm sure it's some el-cheapo scope but then again, you get what you pay for.

Saw it on the cover also. Got mine to the door for $67. I shoot in my basement allot, both air rifles/pistols and bows. his was my second Umarex purchase. My first was a Model 1911 .45ACP. Yes folks, the real deal and also a good shooter.

I bought one of these at my local Wallyworld and I really like it. I have been shooting 7.9 grain Benjamin .177 caliber hollow point pellets with it and it is accurate enough for me to consistently hit a 16oz soup can at 40 yards with the stock open sights. I think the gun is capable of really good accuracy but this is more of an indication of my eye sight and the decent but not great open sights. A narrower blade style front sight and a narrower notch on the rear sight or a peep sight would have been nice but for a $40 air gun off the shelf I am very pleased with it. I do have some 11mm dovetail scope rings ordered for it so I can put an old scope I have on it to see what it can do with that configuration. Like WombatBull, I too only shoot it at 10 pumps. It hits pretty hard, is reliably accurate, shoots inexpensive pellets well...what more could you ask for out of a $40 target shooting gun??? Would be a great gun for teaching kids about gun safety and also is accurate enough to not frustrate them with inconsistent shots (hey hitting the target is more fun!). I actually bought this rifle for teaching my kids about gun safety. I have averaged sized kids who are 8 and 10. The stock is just a little long for the 8 year old but works out fine for the 10 year old. I think this would work well as a small game hunting rifle with well placed shots at around 20 yards. I haven't tried it yet but it will pierce a soup can at 40 yards so at 20 yards in it should take down a squirrel or rabbit humanely with a well placed head shot. Like I said I haven't tried it yet, the squirrels and rabbits in my yard aren't a nuisance and I would only kill them if I intended to eat them and cleaning squirrels and rabbits is not my idea of fun anymore...I guess I am getting old or lazy or both! It's a pretty fun target practice gun. It can shoot directly through a vegetable can at 30 yards.

I own this gun and it's my favorite gun out of my hole collection I bought a nice scope because the one it came with i didint really like but it's a great gun I've had no trouble with it exept getting the bb when I reloaded inside the slot but I love the gun

Good review, except there at the 2:16 mark, A miss-speak here, this is NOT a picatinny rail, is about 11mm / 3/8 wide , therefore a 'Dovetail' rail, it only LOOKS like a Picatinny rail. Umarex should not have done this, in my opinion, it may cause some confusion to your or new shooters.

Definitely seems like a modernized tactical looking Daisy Powerline 880. I wonder how umarex got away with copying the design of the pump handle, and the fact that you have to cock the charging handle before it will hold air just like the Daisy’s. They must be paying them license on this. Either way, seems like a nice gun. Very good video presentation as always.......

When you push the bb into the barrel you gatta push it till it clicks in the begenning you can still see the ring when he pushed up .

Just picked mine up from WalMart $49.95. It's NOT an M-1913 (Piccatinny) Rail. NO modern rings or optics using that system will work. Haven't tried it yet but a .22 rimfire tipoff mount might work.

Yes you do, and I suggest that you pump it up to a minimum of 8 pumps, but no more than ten, to get decent performance.

stripervince1 Yes, still have and shoot my #312 Benjamin pump - three pumps is fine. Also have a #310 [BB or .177 pellet] 1964 and a pre 1957 #317 in .177 - tack driver.

i had lots of these guns, one of the 22s (i dont remember was it a model 342? was a s powerful as a 22 lr. i once shot a mallard duck flying by overhead i mean sky high, had 12 pumps, million to one shot .killed him dead b4 he hit the ground

Wow, we used to , in the 1960's, shoot at vultures circling the canyons south of Amarillo [parts of Palo Duro Canyon] once we saw some feathers fly off one - lucky shot - these were low to where we hid [perhaps 30-40 feet] and the vultures just glided away when we were hunting. I shoot these pumpers at 60 feet [max backyard range] and 3 pumps - no need for more. I ordered the Skenco pellets 'Newboy Senior 15.8 gr' to try in my 317 smoothbore Benjamin. As it is it groups 2" to 3" at 60 feet] with Crosman Premier Ultra Mag 10.3 gr. Wish I had a chart showing shape, weight, length, head diameter, skirt diameter and perhaps the lead hardness [some seem soft, non lead seem hard/]. i played with break barrel springers/nitro pistons for a while but find poor quality and extreme vibrations make them utterly unuseable and unsafe. Had Gamo and Benjamin and found them to need expensive modifications to fix problems from new like cheap scope mounts, poor scopes no barrel droop compensation etc.

Bought this riffle for my daughter due to the multi pump over a single break shes 9 and would have a hard time with a single break..the scope is garbage and inconsistent i consider myself a decent marksman i shoot 800-1000 yards with my 308,338,7mm so im familiar with optics but i just couldnt get it dialed in..I understand for the price point..I know there are better air riffles with decent scopes out there just was hopping they had put a better quality optic that functions with their product..il have to purchase a better optic wich isnt a big issue for what you pay its a good riffle

I Love the gun everything is better than an 880 daisy; Except for the trigger...I loath it, its creepy and breaks at way over 3.5lbs IMO. I would love to see it with a better trigger,.22cal with a moderator. BTW it says that it has a picatinny rail but its not a 3/4" standard rail. Just a 3/8" dovetail that's slotted :/

50 meters at small game and pest, would've been a gross exaggeration. It's more like up to 20 meters of effectiveness, IF the appropriate pellet (say, H&N Hornet) is used. With steel BBs (0.35 grams) it yields about 3 fpe, but it is not all that accurate; with any lead pellet weighing 0.5 to 0.6 grams it's about 4 fpe and can be even used for serious shooting at paper targets . And it HASN'T got a picatinny rail, it's a dove tail (11 mm) type of rail, made of cheap plastic, but capable enough of accommodating and holding a smaller scope or a holographic red dot.

The 880 is okay. Mine is not as accurate as I would like, and is picky about pellets. And, yes, I experimented with taping the barrel, and got no improvement. Haven't tried any "premium " pellets in mine, but it has chosen RWS Hobby wad cutters as it's pellet of choice. Followed by Gamo Match wad cutters.
