Nice. I have the older buckmark version. Many thousands of rounds through it. Great gun for the money. I shoot it indoors at about 20 ft and get bottle cap size groups. Excellent marksmanship trainer or fun plinker.

Just a heads up, Umarex does not sell any parts for the Mk4 or the Buckmark URX. I went with an actual complete Ruger rear sight after the windage screw broke... I had to file its width but my son loves the clear clicks for both elevation and windage. These can be modified and ours are super consistent. Fun having dart games with them. Thank you for doing such a detailed taking apart and putting back together.

Umarex doesn't make parts available for much of their lineup - at least not in North America. When the valve broke on my Peacemaker, I was able to get a replacement from the UK.

Great review and breakdown of its inner working. I have the Umarex Browning Buck Mark version which shares a similar platform as the MARK IV. Love the look of the MARK IV and will be looking to purchase one for my collection. Thanks for the awesome video.

If you take look at Walnut and Steels trigger mode on this model. You replace the trigger return spring with a weaker one and he polished some surfaces. I did replace the spring in mine and the trigger is now a little over 5 lbs. I elected not to polish any surfaces for the reasons you stated in your review. Have a great day.

Interesting pistol. I agree that it doesn't seem like it will last for long time. I have a Webley Hurricane I got in the mid 70's and it works amazing still. I enjoy your content thanks for sharing.

Watching this took me back to 1965 when I was 12yrs old and took apart my pistol. Think it was a Daisy and looked like a 1911. I loved it with it's three types of ammo it would fire " darts, pellet and BB" and I was an inquisitive kid so I naturally had to take it apart. I luckily was able to get it back together. It only lasted me one summer though do to my stupidity I shot my uncle's mule with a dart 🎯 and my mom took it away after my uncle found the dart in the flank. But my cousin and I got a laugh out of that mule running like he got stung by a bee 🐝. Never saw that pistol again. 😅 Thanks for the memories.

I think I looked at one of those for sale as a kid at a garage sale. I can't remember why I didn't get it. I loved air guns but never had a pellet pistol.

That's so cool. I still have two of those pistols like that and one of them still works great. It's a marksman brand and looks like a 1911. Shoots BB's and darts and I used to have darts for it about 30 years ago but who knows what happened to them.

Thanks very much for another fascinating video. I enjoyed the surprise guest appearance of that High Standard .22 target pistol. That Umarex/Ruger is a great looking pistol and should teach good trigger control. But, even for informal target shooting, anything with a nicer trigger would be easier to shoot well.

I had heard about the heavy trigger, but I bought one of these pistols anyway. It turns out that mine is not that heavy, maybe around 5 pounds. Still not great, but it's definitely not that bad. Using the really cheap Crosman domed pellets (not premiers), I'm getting about a 1" group at 7 yards which to me is pretty darn good. Over my chrono it's averaging right at the advertised speed of 320 fps. So I'm well-pleased with this gun and it's very enjoyable to shoot!

I have one in silver. Original trigger was awful, I tuned it a little bit and it was my favorite gun for backyard for a while. I was able to hit coin size target from 12m. Unfortunately it lasts only about 4-5 cans of ammo (2000-2500) than this loading mechanism was broken. The other difference is piston tooth. In my version it has steel plate embedded in the die-cast.

Mine was very poor, rear sight wobbled, cocking linkage rattled, trigger is dreadfull, took it back and exchanged for a Beeman P17 for the same money - great pistol . (imo)

That P17 looks like a similar design to the FAS 604, which was my favourite target air pistol for club use when I shot 10m air pistol competitions.

I like the feel of it tho it could have a bigger/longrr grip for my hands. It took a hundred or more shots before it started hitting not so wildly. Be nice if had a way to mount a red dot sight but the open sights seem to be ok IF I could get enough adjustment to hit bullseye at 7 yards not 6 to 8 inches low. Once I figure out how to fix it/change it for more adjustment Im sure it will become more of a plinker then a 'by guess by golly' lead waster. But at 67.99 I cant complain about needing adjustments of some sort. Trigger is awful heavy. More then 10lbs AFTER you pulled the heavy trigger slack. Watched a video and bettering and he got it to 3ish lbs.

must be a heavy trigger, I see the break makes the muzzle jump sideways to the left..... think the beeman p17 I got has the lightest trigger I've ever seen, making the gun extremely accurate.. oh it compressed air thats probably helps to.. no weight being flung forward to mess accuracy up more :-(

Zinc alloy is a poor choice. Like so many modern products, I guess the piece was designed with appearance as more important than quality.

My trigger pull is so bad, I can't use the sights. I concentrate on trigger pull and aim "instinctively". Which is gratifying when you hit the target. It also builds a separate skill set. I do plan on installing a lighter trigger spring someday.👉---------‐----💥

I have the older buckmark version(same internals). You can do a trigger job, and there are some videos. But I found an easy trick to help. Cock the pistol, and with the safety still engaged, and pointed in a safe direction, pull the trigger tight. Then remove the safety and shoot normally. On my gun it makes the pull much better.

As an owner of a Ruger bill barrel Mark IV 22, was hoping for a reasonable replica of the firearm. Blowback , co2/bb mag but nope , just this cheap , and to me useless airgu.

Yeah, this isn't a trainer to stand in for a Ruger owner - and I suppose we shouldn't expect this at this price point. I can see teens and pre-teens plinking away with them on warm summer days, eventually wearing them out ... and having fond memories about them in years to come. Sometimes that's the best part of airgunning.

@@canuckair Kind of like those old Marksman BB pistols (that also shoot darts). I still have one from 40 years ago and somehow it still works pretty good. Very inaccurate though but good enough for shooting darts at a dart board. But like you said, fond memories even with a cheap product!

Cheap zinc alloy, feels like it may last a couple of tins of pellets and no more, very weak and not at all accurate. Invest a bit more and buy a vintage Webley. Not only will you hit what you're aiming at (a lot harder ) , you'll still be shooting it in 40 years time
@canuckair

Well, my friend bought this because he was a bit curious about these low cost spring pistols. I don't need one because I do have a vintage Webley - but I doubt I'll be the one shooting it 40 years from now. It will outlast me!
