My dad worked at the library of Congress and my wife’s grandfather worked at the New York public library, we both put together our private libraries together, sure it’s a lot to move but when it’s there it’s magical.

That’s about the best and most noble excuse invented for buying and keeping books. It can hardly be contradicted. I’ve been using it for at least sixty years and it still works well.

Just a small question, out of curiosity: how many books?
