Whoever the art director at Supergiant is, is an absolute god. All the games look different, but you instantly know it is a Supergiant game just by looking at it.

I have to say, the tonal shift between the zany fun of the Sirens fight and entering the Fields or Mourning brings an interesting sense of whiplash. The team have out-done themselves with the Fields of Mourning level, haven't felt this level of uncanny or dread in a game (that is not a literal horror game at least) in a long time. Then there's the boss...My heart sank when I realized who it was.

not to mention using the level design to not only add variety but also complement the vibes of the biome. The levels are vast and open, easy to get lost in. You can hold on to the golden leaves, representing hope maybe, to find your way. But otherwise it feels very lonely and aimless.

Anyone else started to chant RT! RT! at 15:05? It's under a minute to build to a hex in a lot of boss fights but can be hard to remember under pressure. I'm guessing using the healing ones so often trained you out of using it right away. Likely a bit of a panic due to the change in playstyle as the flames are a pain to to get used to so it's understandable. They can be nuts once you get some solid boon's going though, and yes special and cast focused is my favorite. Spoiler on sheep below Getting sheeped is not a scripted event or such, you just need to dodge 5-6 times and the spell fades.

Ygnium is my least fav weapon of the bunch cuz not a single aspect wants me to pick it up more. Whenever I have bone thirst on them I just go nope and take Lim and Oros lol

i wish the holding down attack didnt drain your magic. would feel better as a gunner weapon if it didn't do that.

I like them with auto-aim on. You can play it kinda like a top-down shooter where you hold down the button and focus on positioning. (Other times I just focus on the special and go spin to win)

Gotta recommend mouse and keyboard for this game. So many of the aiming mechanics are more difficult on controller.
