Hail from tennis ball to softball sized inside a 90 mph wind macroburst. These hailstones are already coming down at 70-80 mph but now add like 70-90 mph to that and it's quite literally insane. And the wind caused significant damage by causing roofs to rip off of houses and gas station canopies to collapse, and the hail destroyed windows of houses and car windshields and tore up vegetation. The hail looks like snow on the ground after only a couple of minutes. This was an absolutely insane storm. If this had hit only about 20-30 miles north, with the same conditions occurring, the strongest parts of this storm would have hit the most populated areas of Charlotte, North Carolina. Absolutely insane.

My dad used to go out and watch tornadoes while my mom would scream for him to come inside. We had a tornado last year and I was in the basement yelling for my husband and grandson to come downstairs. They were just standing in the kitchen eating sandwiches and talking. All of a sudden they came tearing down the stairs. They heard a train. We have no railroad tracks for 20 miles!! 😂😂

Honestly I think their laughter and comments are in reality a nervous laughter and that is how they were dealing with what horror was happening at that moment. That laughter was fear, anxiety and not having any kind of control over what was happening. The damage that the home was enduring, I’m sure they even thought that they might not live through it. That’s exactly how i reacted when a flash flood blew through our fence and the yard was flooded was 2 feet of water. Nothing you can do but just be in awe of nature. Our town had millions in damages and one person lost their life. R.I.P.
