Our local UMC is running an average of $6000 a month in the red, over $75,000 a year. 2 others nearby closed permanently after the 2024 General Council officially changed policies. Pastors were sent out to "calm fears". The people are not fooled one bit.

Our church has stopped giving apportionments and we let them know it. We are also in a lawsuit to disaffiliate. Please continue to pray for us that are fighting our way out and for those that want to leave but cannot.

It’s why we stopped giving offerings to the local church because so little of it actually went to the glory of God, but to the administrative work of the church, which has itself become apostate. We were warned. Jude and Hebrews and the Revelation. 😢

It would be interesting if it turned out that the local churches the UMC wouldn't let go have the authority to donate their church buildings to the local fire departments for training.

This will be of little comfort, but the problem brought to light here is very ecumenical. Many of us Catholics refuse to give any money to the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops "Campaign for Human Developemnt" because the money ends up in some pretty strange places. There is a lay run group called the Lepanto Institute that sometime traces where the money goes. More often than not the average Catholic's hair stands on end when we find out the agenda of many of the receiving organizations. Hierarchical gaslighting is also very ecumenical. It is the favorite pastime of many of the leading clergy and theologians in the Catholic church. Look up Francis BFF the infamous Jesuit James Martin.

There is zero doubt that alll the “mainstream” congregations amongst all the denominations are apostate. I can’t think of many denominations uncorrupted by all this insane nonsense.
