This is really close to my room's resonant frequency of 14.7Hz. Still, it shakes the fuck out of my whole home! And all I've got are two 18" Daytons's in 11.2C3 cabs ported at 17Hzz (aka the Full Marty Home Theater build).

how did you find the resonant frequency of your room?!

Is it normal to be able to hear 17hz?
@incorporeal37934 жыл бұрын
Generally, 20 is as low as the human ear can detect. If you can hear anything below that it may just be mechanical noise you're hearing.
@Dawood43 жыл бұрын
Generally you should be able to hear 20Hz no problem. Sometimes down to around 15 but never lower. You will only hear this with super powerful and low tuned subwoofer with low room distortion. I can hear down to 16 hertz but the roll off from 20Hz is really fast. I'm also quite young and take care of my ears. I can still hear just a bit above 19KHz too in a quiet room. :) Other commenter is pretty much on the money like 99.9% of the time. You're hearing harmonic distortion of the fundamental frequency. You're most likely hearing 17*2=34Hz
@randomtube82263 жыл бұрын
@@incorporeal3793 I can actually hear both and can tell the difference right away. Mechanical noise is very annoying. Sometimes you can dampen it a bit in a custom enclosure. Plus due to the long wave. Standing from afar helps too. Infrasonic frequencies require a very large room.

@@Dawood4 I get made fun of for protecting my hearing at loud events. But I ignore them.
