hey there what if the lines weren`t in order ! how could i select and merge them then? like for example i have 12 polygons and i wanna merge polygons 7,11 and 1 how is it?

I believe you can select the ones you want merged using the attribute table and then merge using the same procedure--have you tried that yet?
