As part of the Lightning Talk Series focused Conservation and Restoration, U-M SEAS Professor Karen Alofs discusses her research "Freshwater Fishes in Changing Environments," in which she pursued questions such as: How do communities change across spatial scales and over time? What are the roles of species interactions versus environmental factors in controlling fish communities? How can community ecology contribute to the conservation of aquatic ecosystems and sustainable management of fisheries?
The Lightning Talk Series is designed to spark new interdisciplinary research, teaching, and engagement collaborations that address global challenges at the nexus of environment and society. Learn from sustainability scholars across campus through a series of environment and sustainability short talks hosted by the University of Michigan’s School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS).
