The song is a story about a man who married two wives, both having a son each. After the death of one wife, the surviving one mistreats the dead wife's son. Long story short, the surviving son, Onyebuchi (which is the actual title of the song), becomes successful after venturing into business. The son of the second wife, Onyemaechi, is still in university studying. Onyebuchi comes home intending to rebuild his father's house, his stepmother becomes envious of his success and attempts to poison him. In a twist of events, her son: Onyemaechi, comes home, sees the poisoned food, and proceeds to eat it. The evil the stepmother plans for Onyebuchi befalls her own son, who apparently has no issues with his stepbrother: Onyebuchi.
