No matter how bad my situation gets Lord Jesus I will seek you everyday. Even when I feel like giving up I will keep faith. As a single mother. I’m struggling to make ends meet. My husband passed years ago. I have no one to turn to but you Lord JESUS. Both of my sons are special needs and require so much from me. Lord I’m afraid. Every month I struggle trying to provide for my children struggling to pay rent and to buy groceries. Lord help me and hear my prayers. With you God all things are possible. 💕

This week i was easily getting irritated at work ( I work with Kids) and really dreaded going because of how annoyed i was. Unfortunately i lost my composure. I always pray before I go and when at work I try to remember that God has much compassion with me so I should be compassionate torwards the Kids. Sometimes it's hard but God is still good!

Great message, Alex. I find myself getting triggered a lot like you mentioned. When I'm in the middle of a task, or just trying to "retire" and the wife or kids need me. I've beaten myself up over it a lot because all it does is leave me feeling selfish. I'm gonna keep working on not getting triggered in the first place. Thank you brother.

i noticed that i don’t want to be triggered/pulled away or distracted. such as at school, where i try to get all of my work done and become studious ignoring those around me. or at home, doing my daily tasks and getting triggered when someone calls me. so this video convicted me, and i need to realize that i will be pulled away and distracted; but that’s where i need to see how Christ chose to come down to help us, not angrily but compassionately. so that i too can be un-triggered when pulled away.

Thank you Alex for this video, man. I’ve been failing much as a father and husband in this area because I sometimes lean on these false expectations. Getting upset and frustrated about things that aren’t even worth being frustrated about. But even if the situation is a bit inconvenient, reminding myself what Jesus has done for me and that the rest comes later. There are times where I’ll get frustrated because my son didn’t sleep as long as I would’ve liked, because I was trying to continue working on music, or I’m trying to pray and it’s too noisy etc. Saying those things out loud and even typing them is honestly embarrassing because it shows my lack of patience and also selfishness. But I thank the Lord for his mercy and him showing me your video. God bless you and your family, as well as everyone in comment section.

When I was younger, I would easily get irritated. I thought I got control of that until I had children. But I love what you said about intentionally setting aside time which I began to do every morning to have quiet time with God. I love that instead of saying I'm going to have a good day, be realistic that triggers will come and ask God to help to address them like Jesus. Definitely going to do that

Thanks so much for this! I'm a teacher (2nd grade) and the triggers each day .oh my, I feel like a failure as I'd like to be this wise, always patient, firm yet fun, balanced educator and I don't measure up in so many ways..
@PandoraGill067 ай бұрын
Hey, nobody is perfect. When i say this next part, maybe im speaking with no logic and all compassion but i know your feeling so dont think you are a failure because of this. Logically, It is natural to be aggravated by a room full of little kids. It's good to work on this step my step but just because you're not amazing at it doesn't mean you're a failure. Think of it as an unfinished painting and God as our painter. As you learn to be patient with yourself.
@xavierthomas58357 ай бұрын
@PandoraGill06 I agree with you up until the very end. I always remember that it's easy for me to be patient with myself because I love myself. It's when I remember how patient God has been with me, is with men and shall be with me that I can express the same patience with others.
@xavierthomas58357 ай бұрын
I think alot of times our temper becomes like a well used candle. We light it whenever we get angry at someone and put it out once we calm down. Without forgiveness in the mix, though, the wick doesn't return to its original size. It just gets shorter and shorter.(It takes less and less to get aggravated)

Hi Alex, thank you so much for this video. For some reason being at the mall triggers me, I think a part of me is still self-conscious and worries about how people perceive me. The thought of being seen frustrates me💔. I'm also struggling with impatience so I get very frustrated when I'm held up or when things don't go my way and what's sad it that I always take it out on my family, like when my mood changes it affects everyone else and spoils everyone's day. Please pray for me.🙏🏾

What triggers me, is when I'm having my alone time with God or prayer time, and my family just comes and disturbs me...unintentionally. Sometimes I get really angry and want to pop off on them, but God reminds me to have grace with them and remember WWJD? (What Would Jesus Do?)

This is the worst, I understand this so much. Last night like I usually do, I plan my night and how I’ll spend it with the Lord coming from work and as soon as I got home tired as is, everyone demanded something from me and I felt frustration rising in me and had to calm myself. After I had attended to everyone I got to my room and cried and I realised that was a stretching and I was glad I could be helping others even though I wasn’t okay myself.

Thank you Alex for this message and moreover, the Bible passage of Matthew 14. I see how the Lord was a man of Sorrow and yet always doing the right thing out of love and compassion. It reminds Jesus' phrase to John the Baptisor " it's proper for us to fulfil all righteosness" or Paul's "in your anger, do not sin". Triggers will come on our way, but it's not an excuse to start to act selfishly or retain the love and acts of love that we have to the people around us who need it. If we act contrary to this it is evil, not a loving act and against God's will perharps.

this is a weird one but I get really triggered when I miss a bus by ~30 seconds. "if only I was a little bit quicker..." and in my most bitter moments I blame God because I know he is in control of these things. My prayer is that I would respond to these situations how Jesus would (although there were no busses back then!). Letting God be in control, of even the small things in my life, can be challenging at times. But by God's grace I will find joy knowing that he is the only one worthy of being in control of all things!!!!!!!

When someone interrupts me while I am playing a online game where you “can’t” just quit triggers me. The game I play is a battle royal… last man standing wins. It’s really challenging to win, so when my mom (with a bad back)asks me to get the groceries when I’m in the last 10 survivors I’m torn and the selfish side of me often comes out.

Living in south Africa you will be triggered from the moment you wake to the moment you go home. People just generally don't like to obey rules in this country from roads to business it's a Harsh environment that's excluding the constant fear of crime. I try praying against this daily but sometimes the pressure is too much. It also makes one extremely frustrated and aggressive I always long for a lifestyle on an island by the beach to have less distractions and more time with God

Nothing goes as planned Learn how to react calmly, don't become a selfish, angry hermit crab. Don't isolate. - when our minds are set on a task, we retire. Then we get a call or distraction and were called out of retirement. - learn how to relate your emotions. When Jesus saw the great crowd he didn't get distracted he helped the people and healed them. Don't be afraid to have to get up out of yyour waffle square. Expect triggers and distractions. PRAYERFULLY expect the triggers, ask God for help.
