This is the singer in the current production of ‘Turandot’? Time has not been good to her. Both this and the ‘Vieni t’affretta’ are impressive. (A note on the staging. This one is positively splendid compared to current horrors, but I notice one thing, now ubiquitous. Other people, singers or extras, are placed close to the star in great bravura solo scenes. Callas and Tebaldi would never have tolerated this distraction from themselves.)
