@@edd4131 Let me suggest that you do high school - every teacher I've ever talked to says that teaching middle school is the hardest range of grades, which makes sense because you're dealing with elementary-schoolers that happen to be trying to navigate puberty. Let me also suggest that you whenever you get your teaching certificate, get it not only in English, but also in some other topic too. I am double-certified in Math and Physics, so if a school needs either a science or math teacher, I can get hired for either. The last thing that I'd suggest is that you make sure that you really show that you love and care about your students. You don't have to be their best friend, but if they know that you're looking out for them, that you're their advocate and you actually make sure that they actually learn things in your class, you can get even the lowest-level students to try their very best for you. That will only benefit them and it will make you feel fulfilled, especially when the job itself decides to be taxing as it often is. I tell people all the time; when it comes to the problem with education, it's never the kids, it's always the grown-ups.

I was always considering high school too but I was thinking of keeping options open, especially since I’ve been working around special kiddos for the past two years and I’ve seen just how much adults REALLY effect learning environments. And holy shit, thank you for the teaching certificate advice as well. I was thinking history because I absolutely love the subject too. And My hope is that I’m able to navigate the bs to push through and show kids that learning can be fun and rewarding. Not a drool fest full of whether you know how to use a damn comma. At the end of the day it’s like you said in this video, “keep your mind open.” Because I feel like education does that and truly opens your mind to how complicated everything really is. In which you can critically think on your own and make your own decisions based on the information around you. Especially through my four years of extensively studying and learning about English literature. And sometimes, we just don’t have all the answers or will we ever. MK 1 is the best balanced Mortal Kombat. But then, there are ambush kameos like kano and sektor. Very frustrating to deal with. Im looking forward to more complete kits in MK13. I like this game. Will definately get the next one.

You're very right about this. Every other game I played like Street Fighter or Dragon Ball Z fighter Z to say the least those games were optimized and working properly. What gets me mad about this game is that the graphics on the PC were horrible and cross play requirements were very strict and not even optimized to say the least. Compared to other games that I played I was able to play cross play fine and my game ran smooth. I can tell NRS didn't care about the game and they decided to throw it out there thinking people were going to buy it and honestly the game was only made for the console players to purchase their game to make up for the lost finances for what this game could have been valuable for. It's really despicable because they really didn't care to look over the issues in this game and decided to think that the fans were not going to call it out. NRS knows they are failures and they decided to throw this game out there without any fixing or nerfing the game to make sure everything was fair. I wish this game was optimized for the PC so I can play crossplay and I don't need to invest into a console but sadly enough this game has shown itself to be a failure

But that's one of my points; NRS does care deeply about MK1 and tried to do its best to fix the numerous issues that the game had. But they can't stop their boss, WB, from forcing them to put out a game that wasn't ready. The game's premature state is the catalyst for all the issues that you describe.

There are some problems with MK1's gameplay, but I'd much rather play this game over MK11 any day, in regards to just playing matches. That being said, I feel like people wouldn't be as upset if the rest of the game had some actual good single player content. I hate playing MK11(Spawn and Joker were awesome, though), but that game had a fantastic offering of content. I spent so much time grinding for gear and skins, both on Towers of Time and THE KRYPT. (Why did we ever get rid of this mode, or keep its spirit at least) I played online a little, but I didn't HAVE to. Same with MKX and MK9. On this game, if you don't care about playing online, all you have is a story mode that you'll beat eventually, then Invasions mode, which most people agree is just not fun. It could've been really cool too, if it was fleshed out and thought out better. However, compared to previous games, since the damn 3D era, you don't have much to do besides play online. And even then, the online experience needs work. Most casual people, who don't care about gameplay intricacies, will see that issue and say "I'm good, I'll play the last games or another series this year". With that perspective, many people liking MK11 more than MK1 makes more sense, even if I disagree with that stance. Uh, sorry dude, MKX wasn't woke. At worst, it had poochie characters that somehow beat MK mainstays, and one was gay. Not really a big deal. However, I agree with you that "wokeness" wasn't this game's problem. I like Kameo's, but they should either get rid of them or keep them as a side mode in future games. So many people were turned off by that alone, and didn't even want to check it out because of that. I'd honestly either want MKX variations or just fully kitted characters like MK9. Shit, honestly I want 3D era styles to come back to a game that plays like 9, X, or 1, but that's a separate discussion, I just really hope this game's gameplay gets to live on. It's the most fun I've had since X, and I don't want it to go to waste. 47:47 What do you have against Reptile in this game? He was my main before Ermac and Noob Saibot came out. I also loved his new interpretation, switching between Human and Zaterran forms.

Yes, I won't be re-visiting MK11 anytime soon so long as MK1 exists. MK1, even in its incomplete state, is still a better and more fun fighting game than MK11 could ever be. But MK11 was a complete product that was full of content - because WB didn't rush it out. But about MKX, the only reason I called it woke is because it eschewed the male-protagonist archetype for MK games in favor of having a woman and her diverse crew save the day. These suck-ass dudes out here that have issues with the ladies would define any other game or movie that did that as 'woke'. The reality is that none of the MK games are woke, not a one. MK1's crime is that it went out of its way to include more women in the game and overtly called out Johnny Cage /Peacemaker for treating the girls as mere eye-candy. And that it bothered to make Sektor and Cyrax into women, even though it had no negative impact on them as characters. Oh, about Reptile, I have nothing against him, but I didn't like that particular match because I can count on one hand the number of Reptiles that I've encountered in this game, so I have very little experience against him. But, I have a future video that addresses precisely what you said about wanting Kameos to return in the future, so stay tuned for that!

For every bar regeneration and wake up gripe there is for MK11 you have the same amount of frustration with the amount of money being spent between micro transactions and weak DLC. I honestly didn't have a problem with offensive/defensive wake up or KBs but I didn't love how the bar was split in half between the 2 or how the KB was triggered way too easily for some characters as opposed to others. Like you said there's faults in both games but it depends on preference and how those faults are weighed.

I really do try to look at all things MK1 related as an entire whole unit because I see that so many things really are connected, but some things are being conflated by people. And hell yeah, I played MKX throughout its entire lifecycle and through INJ 2's life and that game pissed so many people off at the time precisely because it was rife with wild 50/50s - it looks like you remember the same thing! That game was unga-bunga as fuck and people seem to have forgotten because they are dissatisfied with MK1 and think that the solution is to go backwards. I do love this game; it definitely has its problems, most of which stems from WB rushing this product out well before it was ready. But this game is actually fun the overwhelming majority of the time, which is more than what I can say for MKX and MK11, which are only fun for the one on offense or defense respectively.

The thing is I feel like MK has lost its identity. I remember playing the 3D games when I was younger and despite the janky gameplay, I really loved those games because of the lore, the characters, all the extra modes and the overall aesthetic. Once MK9 came out I was obsessed because it had all of that plus great gameplay. After MK9 was when I noticed red flags. Now I’m not saying that the games pre-MKX were perfect, the story had its issues for sure but I really enjoyed it for the type of game that it was - a fantasy like fighting game with crazy gore and over the top character designs. Fast forward to MK1 and I feel like all of that is lost. It feels like a completely different game to me, from the story to the character designs to the disappointing content. I know WB is a big part to blame in the content side of it but I highly doubt WB specifically told NRS to make Invasions, they might’ve pushed them in the direction of doing some sort of live service mode but I’m sure NRS came up with the whole idea of Invasions. Content wise aside though, the game just doesn’t feel like MK to me. And I get that this is a reboot but all the characters feel like they’ve been completely redesigned visually and are former shells of themselves. For a franchise that pushed the boundaries of violence and sex appeal in video games, this game feels like they’re backtracking and taking less risks. The game feels like it’s going into MCU territory which I really don’t like. Gameplay wise I enjoyed it for the most part, I never really had an issue with Kameos although I am tired of all these gimmicks NRS keeps trying to push into their games. I want them to revisit MK9 and realize that a good fighting game does not need a gimmick to be fun or creative. The main issue I have with the kameo system is that I feel like they intentionally nerfed the characters themselves so they would be reliant on the kameos. They made really weird decisions, like why is Mileena’s sai throw not full screen? Why can’t I special cancel a string into sub’s ice ball? It’s stuff like that that makes me annoyed. I do enjoy the gameplay more than 11 and even X though. Anyways sorry for the long rant, my main grievances with MK1 has less to do with gameplay and moreso everything else. I know that this is probably a personal preference and I’m not expecting them to change the things I want them to change in the next game. Also I still do enjoy the game and as a sub zero main, lot of the tech I picked up was from watching your vids so shoutout to you 🙏

@@shakhaninja First and foremost, I love a well-thought out lengthy commeny because it shows intelligence and a response to what I gave you to begin with. Let me say this: I'm old enough to remember how MK was before the 3D era games ever came out and people in my group felt exactly about the 3D games that you feel about MK1 - that it wasn't actual Mortal Kombat. See before that, Mortal Kombat was a gory tournament that was fought in an Asian setting with fighters with mystical powers - at least during MK1 and MK2. Then when MK3 came out, a lot of those features changed. The game was still gory, but it wasn't Asian, there were a bunch of new characters and missing OGs, hence why UMK3 and MKT came out. Plus this new MK3 didn't play anything like MK1/MK2. And then when MK4 came out, MK changed again. My point is, the Mortal Kombat games have had numerous turning-poing titles in which traditions were discarded in exchange for new features. For instance, the scantily-clad women were scarcely a part of MK before the 3D era, unless you're talking about Sheeva. Every other female character was covered up in those days. Then MK Deception happened and Mileena became a sex symbol. So did Jade and Sindel. So when someone like me sees MK1, I see a return to the OG Mortal Kombat with bright colors, a rich Asian vibe in both settings and music with all the gore intact. That's what MK was in the Arcade days. Character designs were minimal - because that's all the machine could handle. And the story was still developing and ongoing because it had just gotten started. But as far as gameplay and gimmicks are concerned, I'm right there with you - I want the series to return to and remain an MK9-style fighter where characters have archetypes and are fully fleshed-out and independent. No variations, Kameos or any other stylized gimmick because the best FGs don't need them. Why do people think the gaming industry is immune to workers such as this? Nrs rebuilt the game like they always do, spent too much time and resources in story mode as you can tell there’s not a single bug and glitch in those modes and decided to give a half baked offline content stripped down online stripped down customization. Then a year after launch the game might be a little more stable but it’s still got problems.

Now, NRS is indeed responsible for remaking the whole game from scratch rather than using legacy assets, normals, strings and specials like SF and Tekken does. They need to stop remaking every damn thing from the bottom up because not only is it not needed, as a competitive fighter, it hurts the scene because it splits up the kommunity into factions that prefer certain gameplay styles over others.

Oo, when you started mentioning the names of youtubers that hate on the game, I was HOPING you would mention FATE. I got banned on that channel because I would come into his comment section, mention how the game is still enjoyable despite its flaws, and how a lot of the time he was just wrong and showed that he didn't know what he was talking about or that he was a hypocrite. My comments can't even be seen on there anymore. Mike Hollow doesn't bother me to much because he didn't damn near dedicate his entire channel to hating MK1 and you can also clearly see he knows what he's talking about when it comes to fighting games, but he can get on my nerves, too. But the most negative thing I've seen was earlier today on twitter. Someone really said that I am a mentally disabled dog, said that they were going to have sex with my mother, and that I have an IQ no higher than room temp. Why? I mentioned that the game is still enjoyable, and that we haven't got official confirmation from NRS, so it is still possible KP3 will still release. In the end, I just told him I was gonna pray for him. Nobody who is happy in their life can honestly get that mad because a stranger on the internet enjoys a game and is still optimistic for it's future.

Yeah man, FATE is unbearably stupid. He is a neophyte at fighting games and his audience doesn't seem to understand this. They agree with him and his takes but are being led by someone who is horribly blind and censors comments. When the P1 Advantage video came out, he was in my comment section and I had to let him know not to use my videos for any of his bullshit rhetoric against MK1. The majority of the problems with mk1 come from wb’s attachment with the game without doubt. However, the thing that annoys me about NRS is their approach to patches. It feels like some characters get more privilege than others for example havik,nitara and scorpion are buffed in a way that ups them on the tier list but when it’s time for sub zero the buffs are mainly about increasing combo opportunities and fun with the character rather than increasing the characters strength and that doesn’t sit right with me. (Just give me my iceball back and I’ll never complain again LMAO)

Now that is the Gospel Truth!!!!! It's crazy how some characters got the dummy buffs like Nitara and Havik, but then others like Smoke and Sub-Zero get buffs that are so hyper-vigilant so that they don't become scrubby. That part is fully on NRS for sure - and they need to both remove the dummy aspects of the top-tiers and pull the bottom 10 characters up by giving them smart buffs that address their worst aspects without making them silly. It's not easy to do, but it can be done. NRS is really close. And yes, we need our 25-frame Ice Ball back.
