I have 1 doubt on hashed page table. There is no mention of process id in hashed page table does that mean each process maintain its hashed page table? Because if not then page table should hashed by both process id and page no. Because if cpu generates (pageno, offset) then if we hashed only base upon this pageno then it can conflict with the other process same pageno. Or may be the node of list should contain the process id so we can check it. :) anyone can u explain?

Inverted page table will be one for all the processes. It will have the same number of entries as the main memory. The entry inside the Inverted Page table shall have the process id and page number. OS matches the process id and page number by searching linearly, once it has matched the amount of indices displaced will be the frame number which along with displacement is used as physical address to access main memory. In the Page table we never had to store the page numbers, as it is taken care by the displacement. Same goes for the Inverted Page table, the frame number is never stored.
