The Beyblade team announced an upcoming tourney taking place next month and they introduced some new rules with it: the limited rules format. Essentially, you won't be able to use any of the following parts without giving your opponent free points: Wizard Rod, Cobalt Drake, Phoenix Wing, 9-60 ratchet, Ball bit, and Orb bit. The more parts you use in your combo, the more points you'll give to your opponent. Now....what if we combined 3 of these limited parts to create the ultimate combo that the B4 organizers don't want us using?!

surprised Shark Edge isnt apart of the restricted layers. hundreds of tests of mine seems to conclude that theyre almost toe to toe with phoenix wing

The thing is, SharkEdge is more balanced than pwing because it’s a pure attack blade. It can only be used effectively for attack since it depletes its own stamina so fast. Pwing can be used on attack as well but can also be spammed on stamina stuff that needs little to no skill to play.

Wizard Rod 5-60 Hexa is also very reliable and that only takes one point away, with the extra bonus of having much higher burst resistance for the cost of not that much stamina loss.

At -3 points it can seem really risky with how explosive X is but it's pretty realistic to win like that when you have a proper Rod or Phoenix with a stamina Bit. You basically get one point from a spin finish for free and the rest is yolo with attackers. I actually like that though having played against it I don't mind it at all considering it just shortens the set to "whoever wins with an unrestricted bey wins the whole match". Good design by TT in terms of the rule offering regulation but not removing anything besides the most polarizing teams.

Just the stock Wizard Rod was already arguably the best stock release of Beyblade X so I definitely see TT wanting to do something like this.

I feel like a good balance would tl also make it so generally bad parts such as quake, spike, and 4-80 would make it so your opponent has to get more points to win. For example, if you were to use hellscythe 3-60 spike, your opponent would need 5 points to win instead of 4. Ontop of that, using bad and limited parts would cancel each other out, so using wizardrod 4-80 gearball would still be 4 points

A bit of context about this rule: Limited rules is only applied for 1 bey qualifying rounds - for that tournament only G2 Tobu Zoo Cup in Japan. Unlike the 3G Format, they only use one Bey for the whole qualifiers so limiting these parts is understandable.

PS: I was hoping the point system was going to be some pick ten system for deck building like when you build your Warhammer armies for exemple, with bad parts being really cheap and good parts really expensive, putting strategy in how you place all your points, kind of like when using your skill points in an RPG, but I guess that's a functional solution too.

Hexa Is better than ball in my opinion, it can attach to extreme line when launched properly, has good stamina when launched properly and has good burst resistance

Sorry only a minute into the video and I haven't deep dived into the rules (though I did see someone else post them and I thought it was for their own local tourney) I was thinking or interpreting it would take a point off of however you win like for example, you get an extreme finish, it's only 2 points instead of 3...but now that I'm thinking about it, if like the combo you guys are starting has 3 illegal parts, I guess that would counter act all the points gained from the extreme finish, so I guess what you're saying is correct, also in the giving up points by having each kind of part and only needing to lose by spin finish, I guess as Brenden is saying, the combos are that reliable to not even lose by spin the finish or maybe that would be the less expected way to beat them.

Stamina bits are just too overpowered in this generation. Stock Wizard Arrow was the best out of the launch set and given that they had to limit Wizard Rod and the Ball bit, it's safe to say that Stamina is too OP of a type

disc ball is taller than usual (even taller than high needle and high taper) and thus makes the bey using it have a higher burst chance. this is why so far more people still use ball or orb than disc ball

So far they’re only applying it to an upcoming qualifying tournament where the participants can only use 1 bey. Maybe they’ll use these rules for 3v3 battles in the future with some slight tweaks!

Maybe a cost system like in Gundam Extreme Vs. where a deck must be within a certain point range. Maybe PW’s blade costing a whopping 7/20 and you have to choose a Ratchet and Bit along with 2 more beys that must be within the 20 cost range.
