Theo, that piece of petrified wood I bought from you turned out to be even better than I could have hoped for! I cut a slab off of it, and it was dark brown/almost black, with a white vein of fortification banded agate running through the middle. Let me know how I can get you a photo, and I'll send it over. Also, I got confirmation of the names of the two mystery rocks I gave you. The silver one is pyrolucite, and the opaque agate looking one is orange Thomsonite with mesolite.

Oh my gosh, I love ammolite, almost as much as I love opal--and I love opal a lot. I'm so disappointed I couldn't go to the show, but I got to watch you prep for it so I can live with that, LOL. Thank you for taking us along with you, it's such a boon for those us that cannot physically hunt for minerals and fossils anymore. Big hugs to you and yours!

Excellent video Theo, some of my favorite material to pick up was busted Ammonite and baculite with Ammolite on the exterior, my hounding Buddies thought I was nuts for doing so. That was 25 years ago and I am glad I did...👌👍😎😎 You have some beautiful pieces there my friend...

I have always wondered why amolites weren't prepped this way. It always seemed silly to me that they would be prepped with as soft a material as resin. After all, isn't this the way they prep thin opal? Thank you for sharing the process with us. This is something that is on my bucket list to try.

Thank you! I dont like using epoxy. It can pop off a piece which is annoying. I like to hand polish using auto detailing sand paper. It looks so good after, very glossy. I noticed there is a 3d like effect in some spots, i couldnt get my camera to capture it though.

Wow, Theo those pieces look wonderful. I’m gonna have to check out your website. I need to get a couple pieces. I gotta get back into my stones have to I haven’t worked on them in over a year. I was heartbroken. I had some construction work done on the house and the gentleman. That would doing the work for this company get very light fingered and stole a lot of my stones I had in bags they went through everything and took what they wanted. I had emanates and large pieces of citrine, and I had some beautiful chunks of amethyst and chunks of. fluorite and it all disappeared. I spoke to the company and the guy goes. I’ll give it $200. I don’t wanna hear no more about it and that was the last I heard it’s like you owe me a lot more than that and he says his people don’t steal that’s why a six pack of soda disappeared from the refrigerator down in my work area and a lot of my stones disappeared. What do I need to put cameras in my work room?😢😢😢

Hi Theo. Hey, I'd like to ask a question that maybe you can answer. I was near Cheyenne Wyoming, visiting a friends ranch. I found a rock, about 3 inches x 2 inches by 1 inch. It was pure, snow white and non translucent, at all. It had conchoidal fracturing, when I found it. I've had it in stage 1, with agate and chert, tumbling for about 8 months. This thing is super hard. (so many rocks have come out of that barrel since I started tumbling it.) It is finally, near smooth but has loss very little mass. Do you think you may be able to guess what it could be?
