I love SMC Batteries I have used them for around 10 years. In my area back then I was the 1st guy to use them for racing I started winning alot of races with them alot of guys asked me back then hey where do buy your battery's from. They have always been great batteries for me for my fun boats or my 1/10 th pan cars racing.

@IRONCLADRC that is totally awesome that great speed on these batteries like run after run after run. They must have very close match cells and very low IR #. Plus I was looking at your battery Temps after all that that was amazing Temps. I am using 4 year old SRC 120c 6s 5500 in my new vee. And its still got killer speed in them batteries. Very tough batteries. This winter I will buy new batteries. I will be buying again SRC Batteries.

Heh Ironclad Rc, quick question on SMC batteries. Much as i loved your Proboat Jetstream videos sadly it is too fragile for what if I'm looking if you could actually get them in the UK, so I've decided to go with a Streamline RC Thrasher. So to my question, it is suggested i use MaxAmps 5450's which i think you have experience of. What do you think of Maxamps which don't seem to be a popular or loved as.much and if not what would you suggest as an SMC alternative. Being a jetboat it is.more about punch and drive than speed and would you go 150c

My max amps 5450 didn't last as long as I expected.. less than 6 months both batteries, one of the 6 cells died.

Max amps are the worst packs on the planet. Complete marketing garbage on a pack that will catch fire before it reaches a true 20c discharge…if you don’t believe me check out mcsguys battery load test comparison chart on Rcgroups…liperior and smc are the two packs worth buying these days. Chnl g+ are also decent, as are admiral carbons

I was hoping you’d give that rigger a run with that 5300 you gave a taste of it while you was away and that speed run spot was perfect. I think your gonna need a tp motor in that mono to get in the 90’s it sure looked stable at 77 man is a sweet thing. Do you still have that TP 4060 I think it was 1900 plus kv I vaguely remember you run it in the blackjack at one stage at least they handle mega big amps. That 5300 was so cool it could give it. I’m so impressed I think I might grab 2 in 4s if they make them and whack a abc 2218 cleaver on my rigger and head for 200 kmh

Just dropped a brand spanking new tppower 4060cm 2080kv in the dominator, hopefully I can test this evening.... Ii ran the rigger while I was out there. Tomorrow's upload. Dealing with alot of prop walk, alot. Trying to figure that out before I throw big power on it.

@@IRONCLADRC fantastic choice for the dominator. Personally I think high KV saves torque roll on the mono’s torque roll that comes from big props and low KV. I still have issues with prop walk. I moved the rear ski and strut to the right on one guys advise and lost 3 kmh probably because of the extra angle it made the flex cable work through (more friction) lately I run it at a spot with a RH curve in the shoreline, works good going one way. 😂

Working on fitting out my rigger, similar size to the Oxi-digger. Im putting motor n esc up front and 6S block down back ..my thinking that weight will keep transom down and hopefully avoid bouncing and prop walk?? Wait n see..? Great video mate! Top stuff!!

Oxidigger has some prop walk, gotta figure that out before I throw the srd on it.

Man I need some help on my first build it’s kind of a cheap boat but my question is is it better to go low kv and big prop of high kv and small prop? I know there’s a lot of factors to this I’m running a 650mm mono hull

If it's your first build I'd go lower kv with a moderate sized prop, you can always prop up. Don't want to go to low with kv, and have to run huge props because larger props have bad handling characteristics. Like chine walk and torque roll.

Hy does my Sonicwake v2 cut out with zee 5500 120c batteries. Stock motor 160 amp esc.

You may have it "over propped," causing excessive load on the esc and batteries. Basically, experiencing voltage sag/drop a smaller prop should solve the issue 😉
