Hey guys it’s Kae and Livy ❤️‼️ I’m writing this to let you guys know that without your help this new home plan is absolutely impossible. I promise to God that everything you guys send will be saved and going towards the first house we choose to build. We have been saving everything KZbin has given us but it’s still not enough. We don’t want to rent anything because it’s not worth it over the years.
Thanks once again!

Here's wha the song is about: The narrator is saying goodbye to the 'yellow brick road' which is a symbol of wealth and fame, because . He does not want the fame and fortune to define him, and prefers to be back to his farming roots where he can live a more peaceful life

That's not true per se. Its more akin to a Country boy (Bernie) missing his country roots. Everything else is just lyrical application, I doubt he had a woman who lived in a Penthouse, etc., etc. That "Woman in the Penthouse" was London itself. All the other lyrics confirm this, he missed the Plough, the Owl chasing the Toad, etc. The truth is people overthink these things. It's really simple, a country boy in London missed his country lifestyle at that time, he longed for home.
@donny1960

The song is about someone "selling" themselves to the "highest" bidder. Then becoming bored with the "high life" and wanting to go back to the simpler life. There are many different "scenarios" that could fill in the specifics of this premise.

The song is about forging your own path in life rather than the one others lay out for you. The yellow brick road is from the Wizard of OZ. The main characters were told to follow the yellow brick road with the promise of finding what they seek only to find out the wizard is a fraud, and you already have everything you need to be happy.

The yellow brick road is a reference to The Wizard of Oz. Just for the (ahem) record 😎🤘 This was such a great record. It has great ballads like "Candle In The Wind" and "Harmony" as well as serious rockers like "Your Sister Can't Twist (But She Can Rock & Roll)" and "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting". It's liteally an "all killer, no filler" album. And for a double album, that is a difficult thing to achieve. "Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding" kicks this album off with a '2-fer'. The minor chord based instrumental lament of "Funeral" shares the same track as "Love Lies Bleeding" and the sense that these songs "bleed" into each other was a brilliant bit of production. "Candle In The Wind" was a tribute to the late Marilyn Monroe. Her real name was Norma Jean Baker (nee Mortenson). "Goodbye Norma Jean..." "Your candle burned out Long before your legend ever did" kzbin.info/www/bejne/rV6waXufaNuBga8 When Princess Diana died Elton John performed a reworked version of "Candle In The Wind" called "Good-Bye England's Rose" at her funeral. He released the song as a CD 'single" with the proceeds going to benefit some of DIana's favourite charities. You might find this silly, but this sixty-something year auld Scotsman is literally in tears listening to Elton John singing in tribute to his friend, "the peoples princess" and England's Eternal Rose. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJa6eZSwidqsg6c
