Hello, from Indiana. 55 would feel great here right now! Are the iguanas falling out of the trees?🤣. Do the weather changes affect crabbing? Nice crab. Good luck with your crabbing and Merry Christmas! Scott

I always think of the viewers in really cold weather when we are "freezing" in Miami. When the temperature drops to that it is crippling in Miami! We are not used to that at all here and yes, iguanas are falling out of trees everywhere! We haven't really seen any evidence where the stone crabs are affected by the cold weather. The stone crabs are almost exclusively to Florida so the thought is that they are here all year round but not much is known about their migration patterns. What we do notice is that when we get these strong cold fronts they come with strong winds that shake up the water a lot similar to the effect you would see in a snow globe and the crabs move around a lot when the water is like that because it makes them harder to detect from their predators in murky water. they just started a tagging program for the crab to learn more about their movements here in Florida but it is very difficult because everyone has to share data when they are recaptured with a tag. Thank you for the channel support and Merry Christmas to you and your family!!

Hey brother, I noticed you did not tie-strap the traps?
@pescatarianfishing
@pescatarianfishing 2 ай бұрын
In this particular trip i did not because i had to add cowhide to all of my traps and the additional seconds to strap every trap would have caused me not to finish before i ran out of daylight. I do strap them because, unfortunately, we get a lot of poaching in our traps and if i have traps that are consistently getting robbed i move them to another area. We also drop the traps in the exact coordinates which help identify when a trap was robbed because it is not in the exact spot where I dropped it. It also helps in case it gets cut off to retrieve it from the sea floor because you know exactly where it is. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!

Why not use catfish for bait... we are having an invasive problem up here in maryland with them price is 0.50 a lb

THATS a great price for bait. Here in Miami it’s not easy to find cheap, consistent fish to use for bait. Fish is the best bait because the trap starts fishing instantly. With the pigs feet we have to wait until it starts decomposing before the trap starts to attract crab. I would love to have a steady supply of catfish for $0.50 a pound here!
