Ingredients: 1.25 cups unbleached all purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon sugar 6 tablespoons cold unsalted butter 1/4 cup cold vegetable shortening 2 tablespoons ice cold water 2 tablespoons ice cold vodka recipe: combine 3/4 cup flour, salt and sugar in food processor, add butter and shortening and pulse for 10 seconds, add 1/2 cup flour and pulse for 1 or 2 more times. sprinkle on water and vodka and gently combine dough. refrigerate dough for at least one hour. on a floured surface smooth out pie dough into twelve inch circle roughly 1/8 inch thick. refrigerate crust for 30 minutes. preheat oven to 425 F / 218 C blind bake with pie weights and tin foil to protect edge for 15 minutes. remove pie weights and bake until golden brown. add favorite filling and enjoy! what's your favorite holiday pie?
