hey lesage - big fan here! it seems like you’ve never heard of brandy before this past month… which is… WOW! PLEASE on your own time, dig into her catalog - particularly the full moon album… which is where she acquired her “vocal bible” nickname. specifically for stacking vocals. no one does it like Brandy. you pointed out the expertise in her mic technique - well although she is an AMAZING live performer (i’ve seen her three times ❤️), brandy is known/respected by other Black music vocalists as a MASTER recording artist and vocal arranger. she has influenced EVERYONE - in gospel, r&b, soul and even hiphop - with how she uses tone, harmony, even lyric and yes, rhythm in the studio. her background vox are simply ICONIC. i know you usually only react to live vocals - so again, please on your own time, get into brandy’s 20+ year catalog. you won’t regret it ☺️

I'm loving this "mini-series" method of doing a couple of videos on the same artist. I'm hoping that Brandy's Cinderella Medley duet with Todrick Hall (kzbin.info/www/bejne/nnfNiWifhLadgbM) is on that list. She played Cinderella in the 90s TV movie and she still kills the songs.

The songs you pointed out as 90s are from then. I think Brandy came out when she was 14. She's 42 or so now. Sitting Up In My Room is from the Waiting to Exhale soundtrack-written by Kenny Babyface Edmonds. He wrote the whole soundtrack. He is also a legend lol Anyway funny that you call it cinematic. Brandy also stacks her own vocals for the background... many musicians are enamoured with her for her tone, techniques, and practices.
