It’s cool to think about the production of all the items that made these battles possible historically, I wonder how it felt for the individual craftsmen really imbuing things like helmets and swords with artistry to know they would be sent amongst a sea of soldiers with the same. In an age of standardized manufacturing, it’s almost weird to think of the variety in items and the relationships workers had with their products before the Industrial Revolution.

Really good tactics from gorilla boys, they traded well to take thay street, and then brought their archers up to the wall when it was clear the defending team was more interested in shooting infantry and skirmishers than their archers. The defenders played into their game plan 👏

can someone explain to me why Rome 2 tourneys always seem to be sieges, which are inherently not balanced? Is it because Rome 2 field battles always turn into phalanx boxes and horse archer spam? Do sieges encourage more diversity in army builds or something?

@@michaelross4735yeah, because siège requires carful planning and countering enemy movies. And dealing with obstacles like streets and walls. Pitches are bland because they just micro battles. There is an element of counters and etc. But the battles are so fast that there isn’t any real depth of tactics and planning.

GUYS IMPORTANT QUESTION!! I've seen an Apollo Replay from a couple of months ago and the defender Masaessyli was bringing Nubian Bowmen to the fight. How tf did he do that? I assume it was a random online battle, no mods. Is there a way to bring bowmen as Masaessyli?

Great nail biting battle, but I don't enjoy Gorilla Boiis ability to "game" the engine, using every trick and quirk of the game to make it difficult for their opponents to score missile hits etc. Even towards the end you'll notice they're running their archer general back and forth which confuses the AI of the other player's missile troops because they can't just target an area unlike real life. Yes, it's amazing micromanaging but sort of frustrating to watch. They're masters of their craft, but have managed to reduce Rome 2 to a game of missile standoffs, more akin to Napolean TW! Feels a little cheap at times like a push through does.

I would think that most people would cheer against their rival teams in both professional and college football. As 49er fan, i would never root for the Rams or Seahwaks and i doubt they would root for the 49ers. Anyways, great video!!!

I think 0 points with a win, and 0 with no wins are different. No wins at all, and you have no imaginary points to your name. Worse than 0 and -100 lol. You have to win something for it to come down to points.

Perkele doesn't have a literal meaning, it's like a reinforcement to the impact of a sentence. for example "i just stubbed my toe, perkele!" anyways, great vid apollo!

Generally speaking its very dangerous to spread out and attack multiple spots at the same time. If you have 5 units fighting at the same time they will all get tired at the same time as well, meaning u will have to cycle them with 5 new units that u need to have close by. If there is a defending cav roaming around outside and u have 10 units near the front line fighting whats gonna stop that cav from getting to your archers? Thats just one of the many disadvantages of attacking a single choke vs attacking multiple sides. When you unit is fighting on the wall it pretty much cant be cycled out and will stay in the fight even when tired, plus only the front few unit models will actually fight while the remaining will stay behind and watch. Units on the walls are very easy targets for missiles

To tactical to much calculated , the attack was only on 1 direction (place). All the fighting was on 1 spot. I had the feeling the gorilla boys had to much selfconfidence because they had the better factions ! For sure they didnt underestimated Perkele this is why they had chosen 2 strong factions . Gorilla boys played much better in the first round, more variation in there game and tactics.
