Excellent instruction! I love this academy and I learn a lot from it. Risa Ozaki is one of my favorite pros to learn from. Her groundstroke technique is exceptional, especially her forehand which as stated is the exact same as a ATP Men’s forehand technique! Thanks for the great content and instruction!

I really enjoy your channel! I really like the amount of detail that you go into, especially on how a player grips the racquet. Most people don't seem to give it much thought but it 's really interesting because everybody seems to do it a little different and it can have a huge impact on your strokes.

Hips, hips, hips, very happy to hear a pro explain it the right way. All other instructors talk about turning your shoulders, but that's totally the wrong way of looking at it, it's the hips that turn the shoulders!

Well, just like in golf you generate the power thru sequence or kinetic chain where you load from shifting your weight to the right and unload and accelerate the swing to the left using your hips first and your arms and wrist second. This sequence creates a whippy like motion wherein you can generate power with less effort.

That is an absolutely awesome forehand. I cringed at the discussion of all the different take-backs. Don't want her to even think about any of those. They are so complicated but hers is so simple. Great model for everyone to copy for a semi-western or western grip forehand. She hits the bejeezus out of it.

Forehand is very easy to produce, especially if you love dogs. Tap the head of the dog behind you on your right with an outstretched hand and you're ready to go!
@miguelbarahona6636

Nick from Intuitive Tennis and Tomaz from Feel Tennis say that tapping the dog is the worst advice for a fluid forehand.
@bgdn5
@bgdn5 2 жыл бұрын
@@miguelbarahona6636 They both dislike dogs. But you and they are right: the "tap position" does not have to be fixed at all! This is just a very important moment within the whole movement when creating a forehand! But in explaining to yourself and to any beginner, it is very picturesque to indicate the starting point when the right hand changes the direction of movement. The goal, of course, is not to tap the dog, but to direct the heel of the racket towards the ball.
