Those engines were prone to cylinder scoring. You would have to have an oil sample tested and a bore-scope look down the sleeves to see any damage before even looking to buy.

A big No because of your finance deal and its age. Its been through the mil, and Im assuming will need parts replacing - so more expense, especially if you're looking to travel in it and not have it as a hobby car - although granted you might well be fine with it. It's ironic to me this. I'm looking for a second hand car and a certain mileage, and Im taking into account what I will need for parts for it due to wear & tear. Great video, and nice to hear a proper engine too 👍

He doesn't look like the sort of chap who can afford Porsche maintenance, so I'd want to see a mechanic's report on the car before even considering it. If you want a decent used Boxter or Cayman, ask Geoff to find you one. He'll find you a good one for much less.
