17:48 is me! Wasn't a hard situation to navigate but was pretty frustrated that an oversized load commercial vehicle would be pushing lights and turning on red, especially with an escort vehicle in tow. Glad I wasn't going any faster
@coltonadams69362 ай бұрын
So I agreed however as a cdl driver I do have to say that it it MUCH harder to stop in a big rig especially oversized and over weight. The tail car HAS to fallow to ensure rear safety from other drivers for the semi. Crap situation but no one was hurt luckily
@liesdamnlies3372Ай бұрын
18:04 Note the flags and the yellow sticker on the back. That’s the chase car for the oversize load on the truck (to enforce extra space so people don’t tailgate the truck). So it was actually doing exactly what it had to do, but the truck probably shouldn’t have made that turn on the first place.

My instructions were when the wheel comes up out of a corner ride it out like it was on the ground ,if you come upon an obstacle look at your path around it not the obstacle and if you want to turn hard left a quick tap right on your handlebars will set you right down into the corner

I saw a biker run a red light and hit the side of a big left-turning SUV at about 45 mph once. Never touched the brake. Similar to 9:55 but half the speed. Bike in many pieces. He regained consciousness after about 10 minutes. I have no idea if he lived or not. Just horrifying to see. I did the math on it once, and 45 mph is about the speed you hit the pavement when jumping out of a sixth-floor window. No way that 90 mph guy survived.

17:30 After watching Dan for the past few years ( 2018 , didnt have a bike then) got my bike this August and got a good job shout from him yayyyyyy🎉 That incident was mostly my fault I was so concerned with finding the exit and make it to the rightside i didnt notice the break lights came off in front me. ( i still suck with exits, gonna need more experience)

Have you ever seen a group of Harley guys riding together? Maybe it's the Harley ethos, but they ride tight and disciplined like a military unit. If you must ride in a group, get rid of your useless crotch rocket, get a Harley (or comparable cruiser), and ride with experienced Harley guys.
@Roy_Godiksen2 ай бұрын
00:55 I disagree. He should have looked in the mirror. When a car approaches expect it not to see you and give the break lights a few quick squeezes. If it doesn't show signs of stopping, get out of its way by leaving you're planned emergency exit 1.
@LiamE692 ай бұрын
18:15 Very poor riding. Just because you have a green light it doesn't mean you have priority over traffic already in the junction. He just put himself into danger rather than hanging back for a second or two.

Hearing Dan continuously mention good line of sight/stopping off to the side. While living in Europe. So you’re telling me, when I stop behind another vehicle I should position myself in the middle of the oncoming lane?
@riccicrozzie82042 ай бұрын
No.
@zenodio3D2 ай бұрын
What? No. Just stop closer to the center line (middle of the road) instead of stopping in the center of your own lane. Not directly on the line and definitely not across it so you're in the opposite lane.

I’m surprised people aren’t freaking out more over that really high speed crash. It seems like everybody just gets on their phone and starts standing around as the person who just crashed at 90mph starts moving around. Like yeah there’s not much you can do yourself but for the entire duration of that clip nobody called for an ambulance.

I wear a t shirt, shorts, whatever shoes are handy and a helmet in the summer and usually thermals, jeans a long sleeve shirt,my insulated water proof riding coveralls, gloves and helmet in the winter time.been riding daily in all kinds of weather since around 1976.I rode a Honda 50 to school every day when I was about 8 or 9 years old and been riding every day since and never even scratched a bike besides dirt bikes in the woods.the day I have to wear jackets and pads and gloves and boots when it's 100 degrees outside with 98% humidity and 120 heat index, which is about 9 months out of the year here,will be the day I quit riding.I don't carry tools and all that crap either because I take care of my stuff and dont ride junk so I dont plan on breaking down or crashing.If you plan on crashing and breaking down then by all means gear up and bring all the tools you can carry! The lord always has and always will keep me safe so no need for 100 lbs of restrictive clothing and I have Uber and know how to rent a uhaul if I would happen to break down.ride slow like me and you'll see an accident from a mile away, your bike will last forever you get to take it all in etc.nearly 50 years riding and I don't own a single piece of safety gear that I can think of.but thats just me.
