Got there late and stormy weather, but we toured the Mud Volcano, Sulphur Cauldron, and Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.
Day 2:
Not shown in this video! Sadly, almost all of our content from this day got erased... But we did the Petrified Tree and the Artist’s Pallet Springs.
Day 2:

@@atravelpath a black bear sometimes has fur as light as that grizzly but it’s shoulders aren’t as pronounced and black bears aren’t near as large. I’ve seen both in Yellowstone and the difference is very distinctive. Sorry that you apparently missed Lamar Valley where you would have had the chance of spotting wolves.

I saw the same elk on Labor day. Still raining aroujnd that time in the park. But it was packed on the Holiday. Unfortunately the road because people couldn't really explore Yellowstone because of the rain.

It was so cool! We actually never saw it with our eyes, it was so far away. We saw a ton of people pulled over and I had to bring my camera to a full zoom to see it! We certainly got lucky on this trip!

It’s one of our favorites for sure, that’s great you are going back! Mostly we use an iPhone, we had just purchased a Cannon R7 at this point but were still getting used to it. The close up shots of the wildlife was with a Cannon Powershot SX530 HS it was only about $300 when we got it 10 years ago and worked really well! Thanks for tuning in!

You guys didn't go to Lamar Valley? Or was it closed when you guys were there? Lamar valley truly earns its reputation as the American Serengeti. There is no part in Yellowstone that can match Lamar valley in wildlife sightings. I was there a few weeks ago and I saw bears, wolves, pronghorns, herds and herds of bison, bald eagles, elks and even badgers. Lamar Valley is full of wildlife but you may need a pair of good binoculars or even a spotting scope to see them all.

We had never heard of Lamar Valley until after we left actually. I don't believe it was closed, at the time I think the only closure was the North Entrance. That's awesome you got to see all of that, how much time did you spend there? We would definitely post up there for a while on our next visit.

@@atravelpath We spent 5 days in YNP. We went to Lamar Valley everyday. For elk you have to go to Mammoth. But for the rest, Lamar Valley IS the place for wildlife.

I believe it was just passed the mud volcano when we were working our way into the park, there was a line of cars pulled over but we couldn’t see anything until we zoomed the camera in
