Watching you make the paper clips this came to mind. A cross between a paper clip and belly band. Make the strip longer, glue only the upper part where the paper clip is and leave the bottom part unglued where you can stick in things.

I love these! I have made them before using a more difficult method and these just are so much easier and will make me want to do more of them. I also made them with the back covered and it was also very hard to do, but I think this would be an easy way to cover the back part of the clip and have it look good on the other side of the page it is clipped to. Hope that makes sense. I will try doing these for sure. Thanks so much for sharing all your good ideas.
