this is fun, other than the bezel imo, but neat piece at the price point! My first automatic watch is my beloved 1970s Seiko Presmatic which is hi-beat, but i think its such a miss to have a hi-beat wasted on a small seconds! To me that sweet sweet hi beat sweep of the seconds hand is what its all about!
@Alias_Anybody3 жыл бұрын
The specs of that movement are honestly more interesting than the watch itself. Is there a non-skeleton version, maybe even one with a central seconds hand? And if, any watches using them?
@JusttheWatch3 жыл бұрын
Boderry makes this exact watch with a normal dial and big second hand. For me though the design of the watch is t strong enough to work without the added cool factor of the skeletonized movement.

I certainly enjoyed your review and I agree that the rubber strap fits the design very well. It is very helpful to know that you approve of the movement, since I know very little about them. This would be my first skeleton watch and it looks fun to wear. It has a mini "steampunk" look to it, which I like a lot! The only minor criticism I have is that I could do without those "notches" in the bezel. I think they look a bit "cheap' but, hey, nothing is "perfect", right? Overall, it looks like a bargain! Great channel you have created. I tune in a lot for your keen observations!

I was thinking when looking at the watch, that if the dial hands were in a bright color it would really make legibility better.

I really like this watch. I already have a Bulova skeleton, the one with the white dial (if you can call it a dial) and blue Roman numeral indices, which runs just about as inaccurately as your Boderry. Only about 40 hours power reserve on that one though, and it usually runs around $350. This is clearly a better buy. Nice review.

A good to know watch .- Different design bezel, maybe steel or plated contrasting with the dark case; the band materials and color also contribute with the "fun-ness" of the watch. Actually I can more and more see that a lot of watch enthusiast want to wear something fun, colored, catchy... not loud. .- The movement , definitively one thing to try, nothing to be ashamed of.. Chinese Technology moving forward. The only issue could be that it is kind of hard to read, but I think one gets used to it. 👍

For anyone interested in the Hangzhou 7500 movement, but not necessarily the Boderry case, Earnshaw has this in their Baron and Clarke models. The Baron is a more traditional and the Clarke is a Royal Oak homage. As with most Earnshaw, they are massively overpriced, but they are currently half off for about 250 USD each. They are having a BOGO father's day sale, so that brings them down to 125 each, which is a great value then.

Really cool except for the bezel, which is a little distracting. I'd prefer if the bezel had a brushed finish, perhaps in a matching PVD.
@patrickriarchy60542 жыл бұрын
The question of whether it will still be accurate is just a problem inherit in automatic timepieces. IME winding a watch to maximum or the watch running down will both effect timekeeping accuracy. If your movement has almost no beat error and is adjusted within spec you might still run a few seconds slow or fast every few days.

Excellent review, but when you have to look twice just to see the time, it's not really useful. An exhibition caseback is enough if you want to see what's going on. The Seiko may have that stated accuracy but the reality is that most Seiko's are generally +5 to +10 spd.

If you're looking for a skeleton watch specifically, and you like the look of this one, I think this is a great one to get, especially for the price. The only concerns I have is for the longevity of the movement, which as I mentioned in the review, is a bit of an unknown given that they're not widely used, and I'm not sure how much of a warranty Boderry gives. Often with Chinese brands like this you get a really great value, but take a bit of a chance that if you have problems down the road you might not be able to get much support.

comparing seiko's stated accuracy vs the actual accuracy over a certain period for a given watch is not really the best comparison. vast majority of seikos run in single digits, usually around 8-10s + per day, or at least that's what mines ran at(not that many watches, but not just one or two), and most of the watch reviews usually say the same. +24s/d is bad. and you just cannot rely on all the chinese brands. i really like your channel, and the focus on the affordable end. but i do think that there are obvious reasons, why a skeletonized watch with sapphire crystal that has a 72hour power reserve and is high beat, can cost this little. affordability isn't the most important thing, value is. if you get borderline cr@p from china for 200usd, that's not good value in my book.
