on the mistake in terms of your tyres in the pits, you clicked 'okay' and not 'ignore and go to track', if you were to have clicked the other option it would've fit the intermediate tyres

In general this is an example of the game getting the interface badly wrong because Okay is ambiguous and the game literally forces you to read a wall of text with time ticking down in qualifying. 'Change Tires to X. Keep Tires as Y' would be much better than 'Ok' and 'Cancel' buttons. Even if they don't change the titles, clicking 'Okay' should generally do what the player wanted to not mess them up so arguably having the buttons as 'Ok' and 'Change' would be better.

The randoms would have been friends of friends - they probably sent friend requests to all the people in the lobby and someone was dumb enough to accept. When they saw that person on with a bunch of KZbinrs in a game they knew what was going on. That or someone asked them to deliberately interfere with the race. Either way whoever accepts that friend request should maybe get a penalty to teach people not to friend up with people they don't know when it can affect their league racing.
