Nice bike and setup - How did the race go? any punctures and would a 700x35 mm also be sufficient?
@redrobin6152 жыл бұрын
Hi Arie! I had an absolute blast. What an adventure. I finished all 200 miles, although not in the time I wanted. I did not suffer a puncture, although I did have a slow leak from one of my spokes. I must have busted through the rim tape. Bummer. Ended up throwing a tube in which saved my day. SO, the IRC Boken's 700 x 40 ended up working amazingly well, I just had a different wheel problem. Based on what I encountered, I think 35 is too skinny. The going recommendation is no skinnier than 38s. I felt content with my selection on the 40s.

What is your goal time to complete the event
@redrobin6152 жыл бұрын
My goal is to beat the sun. So under 14 hours. But we’ll see with all of the mud and rain!!

@@cyclingnerddelux698 thanks!! I’ve got the cygolite ranger 1200, and have loved it so far. Simple to use. All my gear is listed in the description.

Whats is your total weight?
@redrobin6152 жыл бұрын
I haven’t actually weighed it out, but the bike is ~20 lbs and I’ve probably added close to another 10-12lbs, most of which is water.

How did it go?
@redrobin61511 ай бұрын
Thanks for asking. Feels like a lifetime ago! Race went great. We had a variety of weather, a few tough mud sections. But overall, I had a blast and finished the race, which was my goal. I did have a stubborn flat tire that almost pulled me from the race, but with the tools I brought along I was able to swap from tubeless and get a tube in there, it held up, and I finished. Highly recommend this adventure!

@@redrobin615Good to hear you enjoyed it! I supported some people in the 200 last year. Am doing the 200 this year, just hoping to finish.
