Thank you very much. A family member piloted the drone and had access to my route. So, he was able to captured riders and myself from the drone at certain mile markers. I was using the GoPro from the bike.

Way to finish. The heat hit me hard at hours 3-6. Welcomed the rain as it cooled me off and made it easier to finish.

Yes, I surprisingly ran out of water (2 bottles, and a camelbak) 2 miles before the water oasis at mile 42. It was hot. I welcomed the rain too. It cooled me down. Thank you.

Thank you and yes it was. When arriving in Emporia. I picked up my package. I then needed a SAG support, which I did not have one during arrival. Just ask the volunteers and they will set you up. They will also ask you if you have SAG support. Two ways to do it. You can pay for iit via website, or pay for it when you arrive for Unbound when you pick up your package.

Thanks. It’s an extremely tough ride. I used the Garmin 830. Had about 30% battery left when I was done. Cameras used were: GoPro Hero 7 GoPro Hero Black 10 iPhone & DJI Drone Mavic 2 was flown by 📸 @jrw_shoots

Congrats on finishing! I saw so many had to DNF because of the mud section. Did you have a major issue with mud clogging up your tires and gears?

Hey! Thank you. I had no mechanical issues. I actually rolled my bike 95% of the time. Keeping it on grass. Maybe I was lucky, but my tires weren’t caking on mud like other cyclist’s bikes. The clogging was minor. Gears wear untouched. I was watching to make sure. I saw a lot of DNF, and getting from mile 14 (end of mud) to mile 42 (water) I saw that people were having mechanical issues and also it got hot. People exit the race due to water. Surprisingly I saw people rolling with 2 bottles, and no camelbak. That would be tough. Anyways, near I-35 Interstate highway I saw many people calling for pick-up. Respect to everyone that went through the mud regardless of how the rest of the ride went. That was way worst that 2022. Way worst! A bit long response, but thank you for your comment.

Good job....what size tires did you use? Did you get any flats and was it was ok just to Pee on the side of the road if you have to

Thank you. I used the Continental Terra Trail 40mm tubeless tire and had orange sealant. Didn’t get any flats. I also carried a tube for backup. Yes, riders go off on the side of the road whenever there isn’t a restroom which is basically the entire ride. It’s a long ride and I saw probably a hundred people do it and it wasn’t a problem. Honestly I think everyone knows that’s expected.
