Researching and interpreting primary sources that document enslaved people is a difficult task both academically and emotionally. This virtual event offers solutions to these challenges by suggesting archival research methods that contextualize the institution of slavery in America while centralizing Black agency. Speakers include JoyEllen Williams, Special Collections Curator at Kennesaw State University, and Dr. Barbara McCaskill, Professor of English at the University of Georgia.
