Nice idea..had the 110 film one back in the day…but this camera is quite bottom line as far as video quality….holder is great! You can get a keychain video cam with better frame rate and quality for little more price….

If you have found a better frame rate, come to my website and use our contact form to let me know what camera. www.apogeerockets.com/Contact

I've looked and haven't found one yet.

@@RonzRocketz The Truro Pro is a 4k keychain cam.. 4K UDH - 3840x2160 25fps 2.7K SHD - 2704x1520 30fps 1080p HD - 1920x1080 60fps 720p HD - 1280 X 720 120fps Now granted 120fps at 720 is not great .. but 60fps at 1080 is not bad and workable. Little on the pricey side ... I ordered one and will let you know my thoughts..

Is this suitable for high power, supersonic flights?
@apogeerockets11 ай бұрын
The camera will survive the flight just fine. We haven't tested the mounting solution that Estes provides - a Tyvek wrap taped to the body tube - at those speeds though. I might do something a bit more secure if flying to those speeds.

@@apogeerockets I'll get it secured to the rocket no problem. I'm more worried about the SD card contact jiggling and erasing the file which is a problem I've had with rocket cams in the past.
@apogeerockets11 ай бұрын
@@karlrobinson4887 I've never had that problem with any of the cameras I've operated in over the last 20 years. The Micro SD cards have no real mass to them so I can't see them jiggling out.

@@apogeerockets Specifically, it was the 808 #32 keychain cams. The best I could do was get about a 50% success rate. They would record video before the launch, they would record it after, but I plug it into the computer, and the video file for the flight is gone. And since I fly 54 mm and 2.6 inch rockets on K & L motors, small and slim cameras are necessary. I can’t just slap a GoPro or big Runcam Maxi on the side without experiencing negative consequences. Although the Runcam Mini worked perfectly until it was onboard for a partial shred and it hasn’t worked since. It probably experienced high impact forces when the entire top third of my rocket disintegrated right above it while doing about 950 mph Lol. The only problem with that is I don’t think the replacement will be here in time for next month’s launch so I’m going with the AstroCam. I have no problem sacrificing a little video quality for reliability. Thanks for the input!

Waiting for a compact 60fps cam that doesn't weigh as much as the RunCam2 or GoPro...

RunCam makes one version that's a split arrangement right? I often wonder if more of that version can be removed to lighten the load
