It’s safe depending on the brand like speks and magnetic dots are safe but buckyballs’s older ones like before 2014 are toxic so try to get the newer ones if you do get buckyballs.

You can only get the grey stuff from the magnets if you use heat and sweat from your hands and rubbing it it a forms the grey stuffs and also it can ruined the paints on the magnets
