I just wish they would get back down to their $200 range compared to hitting almost $300.

I bought a pair of the Midnight series a couple of years ago through Duluth Trading Co with a 40% off coupon. They are my first and only pair of Thorogoods. I also have a pair of Red Wing 875s and Iron Rangers. The Thorogoods get worn the most because they're so comfortable and they just look cool.

I wore Thorogood boots exclusively for about 20 years because they have traditional work boot support and safety but you can take them out of the box and wear them for an entire shift, they need no break in.

I bought a pair of these (black & black sole - Midnight Series), last year, during Prime Days, for two hundy! Love the Midnight Series! To get the 8inch, you have to get it in steel toe, unfortunately. Maybe that's changed? Anyway, I love my black boots, from Thorogood, and they get the most wear!

I wish I could get these where I live, that black one with white stitching is absolutely a moc I'd wear.

Just got a pair of the 8" crazy horse moc toe on a black Friday deal. I am really enjoying the boots!

I like those 8 inchers

Got the 8” moc in tobacco (not crazy horse) and have been happy with how they are holding up. I work in the parks system doing 10 hour days and have done a mix of pavement pounding and trail work. Minimal to no foot or lower back pain. Have had to clean them once cause of poison oak. Fiebings Aussie conditioner darkened them slightly but damn do they look good. Gave them a bit of a patina from the work done in them. Ended up making some logger style kilties and dyed them black for a little bit of accent.

Pity in the UK the supply of Thorogood boots is garbage.

Wes I agree with you Redwings are hard to work in. I switched from those to Thorogoods quite a bit back and their the only boots I'll wear. Thank you for highlighting the Genesis line I missed that on their website. I think because I just immediately go to the heritage models. My 1st pair were 1957 8" briar pit stop, then I switched to an 8" round toe tobacco. Those didn't last long at all and I went back to the 1957 briar pit stop again. I just love the fact that your a boot guy on both your channels. So many of these channels are just about style or walking. You talk about what we do and that's work in our boots. What are we going to get the most longevity out of and the most bang for the buck. Thanks for all your videos. And my iron rangers are still my favorite casual boot.

I have the 8" ST in Crazy Horse and work production welding 10hrs a day. Almost all the stitching is gone but the leather looks Almost new if I brush them a bunch and the soles still have another yr in them for sure. Next time I will get the non moctoe for work. Tomorrow I am going to get the 8" ST in Tabaco with the heal soles (non wedge) for non welding outdoor use to go with my Franks ST Highlander 2s. I can't recommend these boots enough. If I didn't already have a pair of Black Perrys I would have really concerned the Mightnight version.

I have them in tobacco. Love the black ones with the cream soles. Those will be my next pair.

I have 3 pairs of redwing heritage boots. The 8" Oro I have had for almost 10 years made in 2014. I also have a pair of 6-inch moc toe black Klondike and the limited edition 8" black klondike billy boot. Definitely not work boots for me, more like sunday church shoes. For work, I have worked in every pair of Irish setter boots. For the last 3 years, I have worn thorogood for everyday work. I am a union sheet metal worker, Local 104. Thorogood are the best work boots right out the box. Hopefully, I will never have to buy another brand. My next pair will be the Crazy horse.

Last year I bought a pair of Thorogood 8-inch moc-toe boots. They were not good, after 3 months I replaced them with a pair of Jim Green AR8s. It was a bummer, because I like that Thorogood makes an alternative to Red Wing and they have not raised the price on their boots like Danner and Whites have. But the Jim Greens are solid and comfortable right out of the box.

Can you check the new thursday boots BUILDER? I think it's a new moc toe boot. Thanks!

I just received the midnight series in my branoc size 13. I feel like I could go down at least a half size but you know they only offer 12 and 13. I fear a 12 might be too small. Should I try a 12 wide? I don’t have a wide foot. My go to boot right now is an Iron Ranger in a 12D
@straycatkid9 сағат бұрын
I’d really love if they offered a few in brown with a black wedge sole. That’s all.
@holdthatblaow9 сағат бұрын
Why do you always gamble with sizing? It’s really not that hard. If you know your own feet. You take an L every other boot.
@Highland_Paddy2 сағат бұрын
they do run a little narrow, but otherwise comfy out of box and all that

I randomly got a pair of Thorogood boots for $100. They were selling these like emperor toe boots on sale for $100 and I decided to take a swing and they have been the comfiest boots I have worn yet. I work at Amazon standing for 11hrs a day and all the boots Amazon has on their zappos site are HORRIBLE. I have tried the Irish Setters, the Timberlands, I tried their Newbalance shoes, I tried all these different shoes and boots and they all made my feet hurt. They were all too narrow in the toe box, too tight, and they all just made my feet hurt. I went a size up to 11s on the Irish Setters and it gave me more room, but for some reason those boots still just destroy my toes and make my feet burn and burn. These Thorogoods I got are just so right for my foot, they are tight in the heel which I like, but then they expand and have a nice roomy toebox and it just fits my feet nicely. I have been wearing them for a couple years now and I love them. They are ugly IMO, but they have been the best boot purchase I have made yet.

Are there wide sizes available in the koio
@greuju12 сағат бұрын
I just got through goods and I have to return them. I really like them but the stitching above your toes I don't know what you call that. Anyway it never loosened up for me and my feet are just barely too wide for them. I think I need a double wide 😢 Back to Red wings. If these look interesting definitely try them though guys. There's no break in on the leather at all, just my feet are too fat

I went through roughly 10 pairs and had to give up. The toe box was too short and did not fit properly. It’s unfortunate, because I love the thoros.

I got the midnight 8" steel toe for manufacturing work back in March. Despite them being heavy and that tongue being a bitch to break in, these are easily my comfiest boot. I may just get a non steel toe pair for funsies

If a Red Wing isn't a work boot because of leather, a Smoke Jumper definitely isn't. But it is. Also, leather is more comfortable than foam. Thorogood is excellent value though, absolutely.
@watchreport11 сағат бұрын
I think this is partially a sponsored video as he always states he prefers leather over foam etc, and yes red wing is more old school work boot, and some do like the more modern build of boots but I think he was just saying nice things here.
@EssenceofPureFlavor11 сағат бұрын
@watchreport I agree. Which is fine, so long as you're giving your *true* opinion.
@TylerSnyder3059 сағат бұрын
@@watchreportI don't think so. He knows that certain things have a place, and that Weinbrenner does a good job with the compromises on Thorogood boots. Built to a price but to still do the job well, and that has absolutely been my experience 100%. He complains so much about certain things because so many companies are just hiding various materials behind deceptive language. Yes Redwing moc toes are still a work boot, but it's absolutely true that a large majority of people buying a moc toe boot for work and wants to pay $350 or less tend to be looking for ultimate comfort and minimal break in. The fact is that the compromised materials are chosen wisely to offer what their customers are looking for. They still use Cork filling, a leather heel counter, good leather, the moc toe stitch isn't a structural thing that can fail,they use nice machined brass speed hooks, and the meramec outsole is great. The cotton drill vamp lining sucks and I'd rather they just do away with it, but otherwise they're great purpose built boots.

I love Thorogoods. They have such a great style and, unlike certain other super-expensive boots, people can ACTUALLY wear them on the job since they get all the OSHA/etc certifications. Currently I have a pair of the 1957 8" waterproofs and, to be honest, the choice to stitch the internal lining right along the heel is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen on a boot. It leaves this stiff stitch-line that rubs against the heel/ankle and is just uncomfortable. I love the style and generally I really like them but this stupid design flaw kind of ruins them.
@TheSara20042410 сағат бұрын
None of these are heavy manufacturing boots 🥾 has to have a steel or comp toe and met-guard because if you drop anything heavy on your foot you need a metal guard it will save the top of your foot these boots are good but not heavy manufacturing boots. I have commented many times and Rose anvil just ignores it or doesn’t care that they’re thousands of us that use the heavy boots not these style boots
@robertrada47833 сағат бұрын
No met-guard, but, absolutely, steel toe all the way. It’s why I buy Thorogood. Unless I order and wait (ala nicks), they’re really the only option in rebuildable wedge soles.
