I have all three 1/4 NECA Alien figures. Personally, I like the original one vs the newer versions. Have it on display. The other two remain safely in their show boxes. Like most, my biggest complaint or gripe are the limb movements being extremely difficult. Right out of the box, these figures are awesome, but placing them on display, in a more or less, movie accurate pose becomes slightly problematic because the joints are very stiff. Easily broken and not easily repaired unless one possesses modeling skills. My original came broken courtesy of a person not honest enough to admit it was broken. I fixed it though and it looks fine on display next to my two other Alien figures. I like size. Where as action figures are concerned, 1/4 scale is just about right for me. Certainly the Alien figures look terrific in this scale. Detailing is very nice and quite frankly speaking, they all look incredibly life like. Giger's original concept for the Alien was nothing short of genius. Only a genius could create from their own mind and dreams, such amazing creatures. Even in scale, they look very scary. Very life like. I actually took a concoction of various fluid substances and poored it on the original one. Took pictures in the dark just using my phone. They came out amazingly realistic. Those chemicals washed right off and didn't hurt the figure in any way. It was for fun anyway. Back to the figures. I used hot water to put it together. Like many, I found this method pretty decent. It was already broken. Thus I didn't want to break any more things on the figure. It poses nice now. I used super glue to connect both the upper abdominal section with that of the lower pelvis area. A ball joint joining the two body parts is what caused the breakage. The ball itself was locked up. Thus the upper pin simply broke away from it. So now, it doesn't move as far as the abdominal area. Still, it's a nice rendition of Giger's original Alien. The coloring is as near as I can tell, very accurate. Not so slimy looking, but more or less mat finished. Pricing is thru the proverbial roof on these three particular Alien figures. I saw one person, I think overseas, had theirs for nearly $900.00 US dollars. Which is totally out of control and just plain wrong. I saw one at Spencers Gifts years ago now. It retailed in that store for $49.99. A steal, by to days standards. In reality, which ever Alien figure you purchase, really be careful assembling it, as it is a bit fragile and if pushed, it will break. Mine didn't require a doll stand. I utilized hot water and simply worked the tail into a more or less, T-Rex, supportive position. Looks incredible and gets many compliments in my Alien collection. I have the "Translucent" version as well. Amazing looking and pretty nearly hard to find these days and for a decent price. In any case, all three NECA Alien figures look incredibly cool and garner most of the attention in my modest tiny collection. Just want to give a shout out to the videos creator over in Australia is it. Your videos are awesome and very well done. I appreciate your efforts in showcasing these amazing looking action figures. Ahh it's hard! There are plenty of standard xenomorphs around, (NECA or not) so if you're looking for a standout then maybe the prototype! They do look so good together though... I don't think I could pick ha.

I bought 2 cheap engineer and spacesuit engineer holograms for 15 bucks and painted them already. Next step (once my 3d printer arrives) I will make that room. I can't wait. 2:16 The translucent dome that showed the skull features wasn't 'concept art', Giger had actually constructed the Alien that way and then the studio later stepped in and changed the dome to be opaque. And wow, there are so many simps on here, lol.

zoejleslie no, they have an open lips version(which you have) and close lipped version. The close lipped one I think is more common, I'm just one of those people that wanted both variations. It makes it hard picking them online and not getting many out here in AU, haha.

Covenant was definitely a disappointment for me. It didn't feel like an Alien film, I didn't like the xenomorphs nor the backstory that they were given in regards to their creation. I liked the neomorphs and the imagery around David's tests on Shaw buuuuut not too much else!
