For today's unboxing review we bring you the 2017 Cadillac CTS, a mid-size luxury sedan that needs little to no introduction. Our tester came powered by the optional and naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 with 335 hp and 285 lb-ft of torque, with power going to all four wheels (a $2,000 option) via an 8-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel-drive is standard, for the record. This engine is also the mid-range offering, with the entry-level engine being a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four with 268 hp. Or, you could opt for the twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 with 420 hp and 430 lb-ft. What about the CTS-V? We'll save that for a separate review.
With a 0-60 mph time of 5.3 seconds, there's no question our CTS is fast, but it's in the handling department where the car thrives the most. Thanks to Magnetic Ride Control, the CTS is, without question, one of the best (if not the) mid-size sedans in the world. No joke. In fact, this is a very similar system that's found on the Ferrari 488 and Audi R8 - and you can get it on the CTS for a significantly cheaper final price. Speaking of which, our 2017 Cadillac CTS came to a grand total of $67,200, which is right in line with its main competitors, such as the BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. But is the latest CTS good enough to take on the Germans? Oh yeah. Enjoy the review!
