Nice, congrats on the new guitar! I just bought this same model / color about a month ago. Gibson has a pretty dubious reputation online and I believed it for a long time, but this is the BEST playing and sounding guitar I have ever had. It's a keeper for sure.

Re your cats. We bought so many beds and special warming blankets and toys. A paper bag or a box is what they choose every time. They do play with their toys though. They eventually make it over to their beds or take over ours. Les Paul’s are great. I love gold tops myself but beautiful guitar. Enjoy n I deleted my post from 8 months ago just reposted. Sorry about that. Rewatching it anyway. Guitarists and cats seem to go together.

nice ! just got another 60th anniversary 1960 Les Paul V3 in wide tomato burst...to go with my matching Bourbon burst. Then I had to get the 61 Gibson Custom Les Paul/SG in Cherry Red. All really nice guitars from the custom shop..nothing is better than a new Gibson !

Hey John, I never considered that. But, I’ve a long standing relationship with my SW rep so I let him know I was looking for a blem. He sent pics and specs of several. This was the lightest in weight and I really like the odd flame it has. Plus, I got what I feel like was a great price. I paid less for this than I’ve seen used ones going for. Thanks for watching.

That figuring in the top is cool. I kind of see a Zorro "Z". Why would they give you an extra blank truss rod cover? Isn't the one on the guitar that says Strandard kind of, well, standard?

Did you get any of those red hot balls in the candy bag? That's what I expected for an "Unburst" '60 to look like, the cherry/red was a new formula for that year to avoid fading... I notice some people saying it is not an unburst. If it looked like a '58 or '59 unburst then it would be wrong - see my previous sentence. This is a version of the real 1960 "Beano" of Eric Clapton when he was in the Bluesbreakers - and subsequently lost and still missing, so far as I know. Jeff Beck also had a 1960 (which was fitted with a black guard). P

Not all '60s...but, I will say a true unBurst with Reflector Knobs is probably pretty rare.

Bro, that's not and unburst. An unburst looks like a completely faded out finish with no differentiation in the colors. The backs will be a different color but are not bright cherry red or that the black back. It'll be a really faded out variance of the original back color.

@@donnyhall2535 I own an unburst with the cherry red back, ordered from the demo shop in late 2021, so I can verify that they do come in that combination. But the top of the guitar in the video does look like iced tea sunburst, rather than unburst, around the horn and selector switch. Either way, it's a beauty.

Beautiful unburst dude, I bought a 50s Standard in Tobacco Burst, it was a close decision between it and this one. Decided on the 50s because I have a 2014 Classic with the slim neck profile and I just wanted something totally different. Very nice

I also bought a Gibson LP unburst 60s . (2021) one of the best guitars I've ever played. I have the Slash 50's standard and a tribute too. All 3 are killer and all 3 have different pickups and slightly different necks. Gibsons are just special! your top is a beauty too. how did you like the set up out of the box? I only lowered the action and raised the pick ups and have done nothing else to mine.
